Injury-Prone Rawls Hopeful to Build on Promising Rookie Campaign
Rawls, an undrafted free-agent signing out of Central Michigan last year, enjoyed a strong rookie campaign that saw him average 5.6 yards per carry for the Seahawks. It gave the team confidence the running game was in reliable hands following Marshawn Lynch's retirement.
But things have not started well for Rawls in 2016. He has 25 rushing yards on 19 carries through two games, including minus-seven yards in Week 2's loss against the Los Angeles Rams.
The 23-year-old rising star has also dealt with some injury issues.
His first NFL season came to a premature conclusion because of a broken ankle. It's an issue that lingered into the preseason before he fully recovered. He also missed time during his final collegiate campaign because of knee problems. More recently, he battled through a leg contusion.
