Bryant Comments on Recovery

Wednesday, June 15

Bryant told reporters he will be 100 percent cleared and ready for the start of Cowboys training camp. He added there's no mandatory rehab plan for him before the start of camp, but he plans to work out with quarterback Tony Romo on Saturday.

Bryant told reporters on June 8 that he has been cleared by the Cowboys but will be held out until training camp as a precaution. Bryant repeatedly used the word "cautious" in terms of the team's approach regarding his recovery during his conversation with reporters, per Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan.

Bryant Participates in Individual Drills

Tuesday, June 14

Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram reported that Bryant is still being held out of team work but "will do some individual work [as the] Cowboys will remain cautious."

Bryant was previously held out of OTAs, according to Hill on May 17, who added:

"

Bryant has had no setbacks from the fractured right foot that limited him to nine games and a career-low 31 catches last year.

He has done well with the conditioning and individual work so far. ...

But the Cowboys will err on the side of caution with Bryant. The focus is on having him ready for the start of training camp and the season.

They love what they have seen from him so far.

"

Bryant's X-Ray Results Reportedly Revealed

Wednesday, June 1

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that after undergoing an X-ray, Bryant had been cleared to "progress to football drills." Rapoport noted Bryant's "not all back" but that he "can increase cutting." Rapoport also said that Bryant is considered to be "in the clear."

Garrett Comments on Bryant's Recovery

Wednesday, May 18

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett told reporters Bryant "has done a really nice job in his rehab," adding that the wideout is working on his conditioning and "moving around well."

"We're not gonna rush him," Garrett added.

"He's done a really good job with his rehab, and he's made progress," Garrett said on May 8, per ESPN.com's Todd Archer. "Like with all those guys, it's a day-by-day, week-by-week thing. But he's had no setbacks, but he really continues to get better and better."

Photos of Bryant's Workout Surface

Saturday, May 7

Bryant worked out at the team's practice facilities in Valley Ranch, Texas, on Saturday, per Archer.

Hill shared photos of Bryant getting some reps on the practice field:

Bryant Vital to Cowboys' Success

Bryant appeared in nine games last year, catching 31 passes for 401 yards and three touchdowns. Between his absence and Romo's injury problems, the Cowboys finished with four wins—their fewest since 1989. The Cowboys ranked 31st in offensive DVOA (defense-adjusted value over average) in 2015, per Football Outsiders.

In April, Romo told David Helman of the team's official website that he had recovered enough to participate fully in the team's offseason workouts. Getting their starting quarterback back to 100 percent is vital for the Cowboys ahead of the 2016 season, and the same applies for Bryant as well.

Barring a major setback, Bryant should be ready when Dallas opens the regular season on Sept. 11 against the New York Giants. Along with his and Romo's eventual return, the addition of running back Ezekiel Elliott through the draft should give the Cowboys one of the NFC's more potent offenses next year.
