Ross Active for Game 3

Thursday, April 21

Raptors head coach Dwane Casey announced that Ross will be available to play Thursday against Indiana.

Ross Underwhelms After Signing Contract Extension

After signing a three-year, $33 million contract extension on Nov. 2, per Sportsnet.ca, Ross was expected to have a breakout season coming off the bench for Toronto this season.

However, it was much of the same issue for the Raptors' athletic wing player this year. He averaged a mediocre 9.9 points per game after posting 9.8 last season, although he shot a career-high 43.1 percent from the floor and 38.6 percent from three-point range.

The fourth-year man out of Washington already missed time this season because of a sprained left thumb. Having Ross out of the lineup proved to be problematic for the Raptors, who went 2-4 in his absence.

Ross also got the chance to start seven games, with the Raptors going 5-2 in that stretch. He took at least five shots in the starts ranging from Dec. 7-22, averaging 11.1 points per game.

Ross' numbers have not been great for someone about to make $11 million a year, but his athleticism and shooting ability are assets the Raptors need. He's an important factor in Toronto's potential success in the playoffs.
