Tom Brady Comments on Peyton Manning After Al Jazeera Doping Report
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said Peyton Manning has his "full support" amid allegations the Denver Broncos signal-caller received shipments of performance-enhancing drugs.
"He's been a great player for this league, for his teams, for his organizations," Brady said on WEEI on Monday, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. "He's been one of the best players to ever play the game. Nobody has more respect for Peyton than I do and everything he's accomplished. Those are always challenging times, but he's a tough guy; I know that. He's a very mentally and physically tough guy."
Brady's statements come two days after an Al Jazeera documentary claimed Manning received HGH from a pharmacist named Charlie Sly in 2011. The report claims the shipments were made to Manning's wife, Ashley. Still, the link to Manning and the timing of the allegations raised eyebrows. Manning spent the 2011 season recovering from multiple neck surgeries that threatened his career.

The five-time MVP has categorically denied the accusations.
"It stings me, whoever this guy is, to insinuate that I cut corners, I broke NFL rules in order to get healthy," Manning said Sunday in an interview with ESPN's Lisa Salters. "It's a joke. It's a freaking joke."
Sly also told ESPN's Chris Mortensen he wasn't working at the Guyer Institute that allegedly supplied Manning at the time and had never come in contact with the family:
"When I was there, I had never seen the Mannings ever. They were not even living there at that time. Someone who worked there said they had been there before. That was the extent of any knowledge I had. I feel badly. I never saw any files. This is just amazing that it reached this point.
"
Brady, whose personal workout guru has allegedly made specious medical claims, per the Federal Trade Commission (via Boston Magazine's Chris Sweeney), said he likely would not reach out to Manning to offer advice. He nonetheless reiterated his support.
"He's a big boy. He knows how to handle these things. Like I said, he's a very mentally tough guy," Brady said, per Reiss. "There is nothing I really want to add, because I don't know; someone writes a story and to comment on the story that someone writes all the time, I don't know the details of anything."
Manning told the MMQB's Peter King he will "probably" sue Al Jazeera over its report.
