Pierre Thomas to Redskins: Latest Contract Details, Comments, Reaction
With the Washington Redskins' running back depth in question, the team signed veteran ball-carrier Pierre Thomas on Friday.
Washington announced the move, as well as the decision to place defensive tackle Stephen Paea on injured reserve with a toe injury to make room.
While Alfred Morris and Matt Jones are currently entrenched as the top two running backs for the 'Skins, No. 3 back Chris Thompson is dealing with a torn labrum, according to the team.

NFL Not Investigating Mike Vrabel
Per Mike Jones of the Washington Post, Thomas has been on the Redskins' radar for quite some time.
The 30-year-old Thomas is a ninth-year NFL veteran who spent the first eight years of his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints.
He appeared in one game this season for the San Francisco 49ers, but he was subsequently released.
Thomas has piled up over 6,000 total yards and 40 touchdowns over the course of his career, and he was part of the Saints' Super Bowl XLIV-winning squad.
In addition to experience, Thomas brings great pass-catching acumen to the table, as evidenced by his 327 career receptions.
Although it is unlikely he will see many carries, Thomas could be in line for third-down work since he excels as a safety valve for the quarterback.
The Redskins are currently tied atop the NFC East with the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles at 5-7, and bringing in a player with winning experience like Thomas could very well help the cause.
