Segura Set to Be Activated Friday
Sunday, May 24
Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that "Segura will be activated on time for next Friday's game, and it will be decided if he needs to play in minors in interim."
The Brewers announced on May 14 that Segura was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured right pinky. The move was retroactive to May 13.
Segura, 25, is hitting .262 with two home runs, 12 RBI, six stolen bases and 14 runs scored this season. The shortstop was an All-Star in 2013 but struggled to replicate his strong performance from that season a year ago. However, he was off to a better start this season before suffering the injury.
It's been a rough year for the Brewers, who have already seen Carlos Gomez and Jonathan Lucroy spend time on the disabled list in addition to firing manager Ron Roenicke on May 3 and replacing him with Craig Counsell.
Segura's setback is just the most recent one in a season of them for Milwaukee.
