Arsene Wenger Says Something Only Wenger Would Say in Arsenal Press Conference

Mark PattersonOct 24, 2014

Arsene Wenger has explained, in his latest press conference, why his Arsenal team have not quite clicked, but it left fans scratching their heads as to exactly what he meant.

According to Wenger:

"

Wenger: "Until now we have been consistent with our performances but not efficient enough defensively or offensively" #SFCvAFC

— Arsenal FC (@Arsenal) October 24, 2014"

What to make of that? Here are some of the more printable replies from fans:

"

@Arsenal consistently mediocre

— living_in_the_iceage (@_kierk) October 24, 2014"
"

@Arsenal talking riddles again. We've been consistently inconsistent would be better

— Johno ✖️ (@Talkinoutmyarse) October 24, 2014"
"

@Arsenal HAHAHA WTF 😂😂

— Dima - Weltmeister (@OzilGloryx) October 24, 2014"
"

@ckeogh1971 @Arsenal he needs to leave as soon as today

— Croccifixio (@Leqeezy) October 24, 2014"

In short, it does sound as if Wenger meant that the team was consistently inefficient up front and in defence, which doesn't sound like the highest praise he could pay his team.

Still, if Arsenal ever replace him, you'd be unlikely to get soundbites like that...
