NFL Odds: Week 6 Opening Lines, Games off the Board

OddsShark.comOct 7, 2014

The Indianapolis Colts will be gunning for their fourth straight win when they take on the 3-2 Houston Texans as 2.5-point road favorites in a battle of AFC South co-leaders on Thursday Night Football as we look at the opening odds for Week 6 of the NFL season.

The 3-2 Colts have played solid ball since starting the season with a pair of SU losses, going 1-1 ATS. Led by quarterback Andrew Luck, tops in the NFL with 1,617 passing yards, Indy has strung together three wins, SU and ATS, including a 20-13 win last weekend over the Ravens.

The Colts face a Texans squad that is revitalized following a disastrous 2013 campaign. Houston is coming off a tough 20-17 overtime loss in Dallas last Sunday, but has been both a solid bet and a defensive beast this year. The Texans are 4-1 ATS while holding opponents to just over 17 points per game.

But Houston will be in tough against an Indy squad that has dominated them, with eight SU wins in their last 12 meetings in Houston, 20-4 SU in their last 24 meetings overall.

The 3-1 Cincinnati Bengals will be looking to bounce back from a tough 43-17 loss to New England on Sunday night when they welcome the 3-2 Carolina Panthers as seven-point favorites according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

It was an unexpectedly lopsided loss for the Bengals, who had allowed just 13 points per game in their first three outings, extending their recent road woes where they are just 2-4 both SU and ATS in their last six games.

However, the Bengals have not lost a regular season home game since 2012 and face a Panthers team that is 1-4 ATS in their last five on the road.

Philadelphia will be looking to maintain their share of first place in the NFC East in Sunday night's Giants vs. Eagles betting matchup at Lincoln Financial Field.

The 4-1 Eagles enter the week averaging 31.2 points per game, tied for top spot in the NFL alongside the Colts. But while Philly has been a solid 9-3 SU in its last 12 against the 3-2 Giants, it is just 3-6 ATS in its last nine at home against New York.

In other NFL Week 6 action, the 4-1 Dallas Cowboys take on the 3-1 Seattle Seahawks as 8.5-point road underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The 4-1 San Diego Chargers travel to Oakland as seven-point favorites against the winless Raiders, while the 2-3 Atlanta Falcons take on the 2-3 Chicago Bears as three-point favorites.
