Oakland Raiders: 19 Wins, 5 Years....Lots of Friends
Today's history lesson, is on everyone's team in history. Look at the Raiders last 5 years. 19 wins. Looks bad, right?
They're not alone.
Would you believe, the Team of Perfection, the Patriots, have their own failures? Sure enough, from 1989 to 1993, they were more pathetic than anything.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Some teams, you'd have to do some major digging. Others, it's a case of not as much talent, but local conditions, like world war 2, or expansion issues.
Want to see some of the records, for futile efforts? Scroll down:
Our first category, was clubs trying to function during world war 2. The Chicago Cardinals, it should be noted, have two trips to horrible lane. First visit, came in the 50s, from 1953-1958. This string netted them 19 wins, but easily, with a 2 win performance in 1959, or from 1950-1955, 6 years, got them 9 as well.
However, for truly bad condition, in 1943-1945, they managed 1 win.In 3 years. One season, in fact, was a combination of 3 clubs, simply trying to keep the clubs functional. However, if you put this club on the 5 year plan...7 wins in 5 years.....icky.
Other Clubs, for example, it was the effort of survival, at the beginning, that was painful to watch. Atlanta's Falcons, from 1966-1970, had only 16 wins. Same rule goes for the Saints, who from 1967-1971, managed 18 wins, but then, they could duplicate this stat for several more years, either on the front end, or off the back end. Case in point, 1973-1977, 19 wins again.
Some would tag Tampa Bay, right away, but they only started out horrible. In 1979, they actually had a playoff year, and for a couple more looks, weren't bad.
Then, like 1982-1986, they were a rock at the bottom of the pond. However, for all surprises, 1982, they actually were in the playoffs, at 5-4.
Even clubs like Green Bay have droughts. Before Vince came along and changed things, in 1959, they had a stretch of 5 years, with only 18 wins.
The Chicago Bears, came close, in 1969-1973, made it in at 20 wins, repeating this low point again, from 1971-1975.
San Francisco, were saved from the fate, by the 1981 Super Bowl year. Previously, they had 15 wins, in the previous 4 years, with a 3-6 record following the year.
Pretty simple, if you think the Raiders have been bad, do a little diligent research, before believing guys in SI or ESPN.
The past, might scare you.
