WWE: Update on the Planned Angle for the McMahons at WrestleMania XXX
The McMahons decide on Vickie's fate (from WWE.com)

What will the McMahon family do at WrestleMania XXX next year?

Something is obviously going on with the clan.

Vince McMahon, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon-Levesque have been all over WWE programming in recent weeks.

Do you like seeing so much of the McMahons on Raw?

In fact, entire shows are now being built around their segments. Last Monday's "Raw" was centered on whether or not the trio would give Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero her marching orders.

The TNA Gut Check-esque skit strongly hinted at tension within the family too. Triple H was eager to get rid of the conniving manager and Vince desperately wanted to keep her. Both urged Stephanie to take their side. A conflicted-looking Stephanie refused to vote, letting the fan vote determine whether or not Vickie would stay instead.

Talk about taking the easy way out, Steph.

But where is it all going?

Well, in this week's (subscribers-only) Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer writes that the pay-off to all this will likely be at WrestleMania XXX, with a "winner gets control of WWE" storyline:

The planned main event for WrestleMania is being looked at as one of those winner gets control of the company storylines that Carlos Colon and Invader just did in Puerto Rico. Vince isn’t going to wrestle, but will have a surrogate. I presume HHH will wrestle. Right now the idea is Stephanie will be in the storyline through SummerSlam, but her presence will be toned down after SummerSlam so the focus is just on Vince and HHH. That all could change.

Power control angles aren't anything new in wrestling. Vince and Ric Flair had one in 2002 and 2003 (Vince ultimately won, of course). Prior to that there was 2001's Invasion angle, and Vince Russo's chaotic WCW saw ownership change seemingly every other week.

Sometimes they can be fun. It really just depends on how well they are booked.

While some may roll their eyes at Vince, Triple H and Stephanie taking center stage yet again (I've been critical too), it's worth noting that this week's "Raw," which, as mentioned, was based around the family, delivered a great number (Zap2it via ProWrestling.net).

Impressively, the viewership increased as the show went on, indicating people were interested in seeing the Vickie vote.

Maybe there is some mileage left in the family as on-screen characters, after all.
