Jamie Bestwick

If you don’t know about 41-year-old Jamie Bestwick and what he is trying to accomplish in Barcelona, you need to get with the times.

The English star is the seven-time defending BMX Vert champion and looking for a huge No. 8.

Bestwick dominated the field at X Games Brazil—second-place finisher Coco Zurita finished nine points behind the leader—and will look to continue his success and once again assert himself as one of the best BMX champions in history.

Travis Pastrana

After watching professional racer Scott Speed walk into the RallyCross competition in Brazil and walk away with the gold medal, Travis Pastrana will look to climb back to the top of the mountain by winning gold in Barcelona.

Not only will Speed and Pastrana be going head-to-head, the addition of bona fide stars like Tanner Foust and Ken Block makes this one of the most decorated fields in the history of the event.

Pastrana has become a mainstream icon for action sports, and after seeming to dominate every sport he has ever tried, the X Games veteran will look to add the 2013 RallyCross title to his vast collection of championship hardware.

Zack Warden

As exciting as X Games Barcelona is shaping up to be, the anticipation surrounding the GoPro BMX Big Air Final—the event that closes out the games this year—and defending champion Zack Warden is what most fans are talking about.

Not only is the BMX Big Air Final always one of the most exciting events of the weekend, Warden is the defending champion from America looking to win another gold medal on foreign soil.

Warden has the chance to win another title despite having a field as tough as he’s ever faced—including gold medalists Steve McCann and Chad Kagy—but three-time Big Air gold champion Kevin Robinson has been ruled out (h/t ESPN).

The stage has been set for Warden to steal the show.
