Liverpool Transfer News: Reds Land Chelsea Striker Daniel Sturridge

Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool have made the first big splash of the midseason January transfer window, signing former Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge according to the club's official website on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old forward has scored 13 goals in 63 Premier League appearances with the Blues since joining the English powerhouse in 2009. Before then, Sturridge played three seasons with Manchester City.

Sturridge has one goal in seven EPL appearances (including one start) for Chelsea this season. At Anfield, he will join forces with gifted scorer Luis Suarez, who leads the Reds with 13 goals in EPL play this season.

In addition to boasting years of professional experience in the Premier League, Sturridge has international experience having played for Great Britain's Olympic football team this past summer in London.
