Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.com reported on his site (h/t SNY.tv) Saturday that Andrew and Aaron Harrison both want to go to Kentucky, while their father, Aaron Harrison Sr., wants them to commit to Maryland. Zagoria cites an unnamed Division I source.
The source went on to say that he believed the boys would get their wish to end up with John Calipari at the University of Kentucky. While I'm always incredibly skeptical of the ever-informative "unnamed sources," Zagoria seems to stay away from simply pulling things out of thin air (it also helps that he is reporting exactly what I want to hear, but I digress).
There are a couple of things about this possible news that both Kentucky and Maryland fans should take into account (besides a gigantic grain of salt):
- Ben Roberts of BloginKY.com points out that Harrison has very strong roots in the Baltimore area, and he's known Maryland coach Mark Turgeon for a long time. The boys also have family in the Baltimore area that they visit quite often, making them very familiar and comfortable there (per the Baltimore Sun).
- I mentioned a couple weeks ago that Harrison Sr. was not going to hold his sons to their Oct. 29 decision deadline, according to Ben Roberts. While this may indicate many more weeks (or months) of agonizing suspense for both fanbases, it also indicates that the boys' father is going to let them make their own decision. If that's the case—and Adam Zagoria's source is legit—then the Harrison Twins probably will be wearing blue next fall.
