The WWE is going to be stuck after WrestleMania XXVIII when The Rock is back in Hollywood and John Cena is without someone to feud with. The smart business move is to place their top face against the debuting heel, Lord Tensai.
Justin LaBar talked about Tensai coming into the WWE as one of their top heels saying:
Reports across the web suggest that Lord Tensai will be some sort of henchman for John Laurinaitis and is going to be in a top spot on the roster.
If that is true, with Tensai coming in as a henchman for Laurinaitis, then you would think his first feud would be with CM Punk. However, with Punk and Chris Jericho’s feud doing so well, the WWE could stretch their program out through April to May.
After WrestleMania, Cena is without anyone to work with. He could take some time off, as the WWE could write him off of Raw if he would lose to The Rock in their main event match.
However, when was the last time Cena took time off when he wasn’t forced too because of injury?
Having Tensai come in at the end of Raw the day after WrestleMania would make the most sense. He could close the show attacking Cena while he gloats about his big victory over The Rock.
This would introduce us to the character while putting him over as a serious threat in the WWE by taking out their top guy, Cena.
The WWE doesn’t even have to put Tensai with Laurinaitis to start. They could bring him into the storyline down the road, with Laurinaitis saying that he brought Tensai into the company to take Cena out since Kane couldn’t get the job done.
If you remember, Cena was budding heads with the interim Raw general manager for a period of time.
The moving parts are all there to line up and make this a great feud to take us into the new WWE year. Cena gets to feud with a monster heel, Tensai. Laurinaitis keeps his on-screen character as a heel WWE Executive trying to run the company his way. And the company can keep Jericho-Punk feuding over the WWE Title.
The WWE wants to build Tensai as the next monster-heel. Having him feud with Cena will get him over and establish him as a serious threat to the WWE.
