The Great Khali vs. David Otunga was heavily teased for this Monday's Raw. Teddy Long seemed to make the announcement backstage, but you never know if the company will follow through.

For more on this match, head on over to WWE.com! The entire events of Smackdown are discussed in great detail there.

As for this potential showdown?

I like the idea. It works on quite a few levels, and these two will have the weight of the world on them Monday night in Boston.

1. It furthers the ongoing battle for the general manager's position. With both Raw and Smackdown going for dominance, one will lose. While the other will gain all the power...

At this point, it seems Khali is representing Mr. Long. Otunga is clearly backing Mr. Excitement. Thus, it is no surprise these two will have a match on Raw this week.

2. Long is making life miserable for Johnny Ace's guys. Just like Mr. Excitement will make life miserable for Long's girlfriend next week! It fits in with the story, and logic is all that one can ask for in this business. Right?

3. Raw will be held in Boston. Excuse my language here, but the city is known for being "too smart" at WWE events. With Otunga and Khali in the ring together, I am sure the fans will have a ball with this one. Of course, the live audience likely won't even give them a chance to succeed.

Shocking, I know.

4. Finally, that ties into my final point. David Otunga has been great the past few months. He has found himself a nice role, and it works well for him. It is almost time for the WWE Universe to view him in a totally different way than last year.

Also, Khali is back for another run. I suspect it will end at 'Mania, so why not enjoy his time now? He won't be around much longer, and the man isn't doing anything wrong.

Khali is no headache in the back. He has a job for life with the company, does fine in the ring and his WWE Hall of Fame spot is inevitable. Yes, he is going to be inducted one day...

Yet the former World Champion is given no respect by fans. He is giving his body to the industry and doing so without any issue. I give him major props. Even with all that being said, he has great theme music! Who doesn't love dancing to his entrance?

As you can see, these two men deserve a shot Monday night. Them having a match works well with the storyline going on, and I expect them to prove a lot of people wrong on Raw.

They will deliver a strong performance, just like they always do!
