This has been one crazy week for the WWE, with CM Punk making national media headlines due to his twitter feud with Chris Brown.
WE also got news from several sources including WrestlingInc.com via PWInsider.com, that once Raw ended an anonymous wrestler texted the following message to the site:
"[Johnson] comes in to use WWE to get back the audience he lost doing Disney movies, which is fine but he's been back over a year and name one person he helped make a bigger star since then? No one.
"He's here for himself, he keeps to himself, and he keeps someone who's actually touring here all year from making a bigger payday at the bigger shows. It's all about making this the "biggest" Mania of all time. OK, then what do we do the rest of the year? Who's been made? You think he took ANY blame for Survivor [Series] not drawing? Of course not, but how do you feud with a guy on the Titantron? Cena nailed the guy dead on tonight.
"Say anything about HHH, Taker, etc. still being in the top spot but if they were needed to work the road, they would and they would still work their asses off as much as they needed to. Rock is out for Rock and the idea he's here to better anything but his own wallet is the biggest work of 2012."
Now that's a pretty bold statement, considering The Rock is bringing in a big pay-day for everyone involved in WrestleMania. Not to mention, he is not in a title match so it's not like he is stealing a championship opportunity from anyone.
Yes, it can be frustrating to lose some TV time, but this anonymous talent would surely do the same if he was given the same opportunities The Rock has.
Like it or not, Dwayne Johnson set a goal for his life and he is fulfilling that goal. I personally have no problem with him becoming a mainstream actor. Nor do I take issue with him coming back to wrestle in what's considered a main-event match.
However, I also recognize that he cannot make this a yearly tradition. In the long run, it will definitely steal the spotlight from younger talent. In the end, there will have to be a balance to make sure all parties are happy.
Now, according to WrestlingInc.com, the wrestlers tirade caught the attention of The Rock via twitter:
Based on reports and speculation of Johnson having "heat" within WWE circles, a Twitter user asked the actor/wrestler, "Haters claim you're keeping them from wrestling at 'Mania and they can't get over. Why couldn't they get over when you were gone?"
Johnson, who is well aware of his critics backstage, responded Wednesday night, "The ones who are complaining are the ones who will never get over anyway, Too busy complaining.
As much as people support the anonymous wrestler's point of view, you have to remember that The Rock has had more ring time this past year than the Undertaker. So wouldn't it be safe to say that "The Dead Man" is also stealing a WrestleMania spot?
Let me know your thoughts, as this will surely be a hot topic as we get closer to WrestleMania.
