WWE Raw Rating Is In: How Did WWE Hold Up Against the BCS Championship Game?
I loved WWE Raw last night. The show was highly entertaining and the two hours flew by. With that being said, ratings are what matter here, not what I thought of the show. That can be read here!
For those wondering, here are my thoughts on last week's 3.1 rating for Raw.
This week is a little bit different. Numbers show that viewers left as the show went on. A scary trend that WWE just can't seem to stop.
Hour 1 of WWE Raw drew 4,096,000 million viewers.
Hour 2 of WWE Raw drew 3,920,000 million viewers.
The BCS championship on ESPN drew over 24 million viewers.
The official final rating for WWE Raw last night was a 2.9.
My thoughts on the numbers?
Ouch!
Sorry, all the excuses end next week. No more "give it time." No more "holidays." No more of that.
Also, there is no more football on Monday nights. The NFL Playoffs will be weekends, and college games are finished.
Yes, there will still be new cable shows each week, but it doesn't matter. WWE needs to get viewers to tune into their show. Forget what the "competition" is every week!
If Raw is entertaining enough, people will tune in. It's that simple. With the Road to WrestleMania getting started, I expect much better in the coming months.
Agan, I enjoyed last night's show, so I can't fault the content. The show was well timed, and everybody did a great job! Especially Rosa Mendes and Brodus Clay.
On a side note, last week's Smackdown rating drew a 1.8 rating, its lowest since September (right before Mark Henry won the World Title). Exactly one month ago Smackdown was drawing a 2.2 rating.
Nearly 500,000 viewers gone from the Blue Brand in a month's time? Like I said, this "revolution" of new champions is not going well thus far. I am interested to see how the tapings for tonight's Smackdown end up...
