Tattoos are everywhere you go.

We've all heard people say, "Check out that tat" or "Look at that ink."

Many tattoos represent the past of an individual, while others are a sign of style.

Regardless of the reasons, tattoos have grown significantly over the past several years and are becoming a popular trend in the sport of mixed martial arts.

However, in the world of tattoos, only a few can rise above the rest.

The following slides display the 25 best tattoos in MMA.

Clay Guida

Guida_display_image

Do you like what you see?

A better question: Do you even know what you see?

There's a whole lot going on there on the back of Clay Guida, and it's pretty cool.

Thiago Alves

Alves_display_image

Alves is home to one of the coolest tattoos, as it represents his nickname, "The Pit Bull."

Below that is an arm sleeve with the Bible verse Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Chris Leben

Leben_display_image

Chris Leben is a fairly crazy fighter.

His tattoos aren't too far behind.

Leben has tattoos on nearly every part of his body, but the best can be found in his arm sleeve and back tat.

Brock Lesnar

Les_display_image

I haven't decided whether I'm more afraid of Brock Lesnar or the tattoo on his back.

Lesnar's back is a lot more presentable than his front.

Wanderlei Silva

Silva_display_image

Wanderlei Silva has his fair share of tattoos, but few can compare to the woman on his arm.

The unidentified woman on his arm has the word "Wand" on her shoulder.

Also not displayed in the above photo is Silva's head tattoo.

Mike Brown

Brown_display_image

At first glance, Mike Brown's tattoo can be mistaken for Brock Lesnar's tattoo.

But it certainly has its own style.

Brown homes the angel wings on the center of his chest.

Shane Carwin

Carwin_display_image

Shane Carwin has arguably the meanest arm sleeve in MMA today.

Enough said.

Alessio Sakara

Saka_display_image

A wise man once said, "You ain't seen nothin' yet."

That statement holds true if you haven't taken a glimpse at Alessio Sakara's tattoos.

It's hard to compete with Sakara, who's got everybody and his brother on his body.

Jon Jones

Bones_display_image

Jon "Bones" Jones may not be liked by a lot of fans, but that doesn't stop him from rocking the Philippians 4:13 Bible verse on his right chest.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Thiago Silva

Silva_original_display_image

Many fans feel as if Thiago Silva is home to the best tattoos in any organization of MMA.

If you begin to decipher his back, arm sleeves and any other ink he has, you'll find a variety of different things.

Wow.

Chuck Liddell

Chuck_display_image

Have you ever wondered what exactly was on the side of Chuck Liddell's head?

Well, you're not alone.

Liddell's tattoo is a tribute to his roots as a mixed martial artist.

Renato Sobral

Bab_display_image

I wouldn't mess with Renato "Babalu" Sobral solely based on his tattoos.

No explanation needed on this one.

Frank Mir

Frank_display_image

Can you kind of see the resemblance?

We're getting close, Frank.

Frankie Edgar

Frankie_display_image

No one really knows what's all going on with Frankie Edgar's right arm.

But we do know that it's one of the best tattoos in MMA today.

A mean tat for a mean fighter.

Scott Jorgensen

Jorgh_display_image

It's possible Scott Jorgensen has the best color in MMA.

Jorgensen's already a fairly wild man, but his tattoos put him over the top.

Ridiculously cool.

Joe Rogan

Rogan_display_image

The coolest tattoo in MMA may not even be from a mixed martial artist, as Joe Rogan is making a run towards the top of the list.

Rogan has one of the best arm sleeves in MMA today.

The only problem? Fans hardly ever see it.

Krzysztof Soszynski

Sky_display_image

Krzysztof Soszynski.

Try pronouncing that, and then try to decipher his back tattoo.

Entire game of Modern Warfare summed up on one man's back?

Fabricio Werdum

Fab_display_image

Another fighter, another tattoo. Right?

Wrong.

Fabricio Werdum doesn't have your ordinary tattoo.

Pretty cool?

Cristiane Cyborg

Cyborg_display_image

Why would Cristiane Cyborg's tattoo be on here?

After all, it's just her name on her forearm, right?

Rationale: because it's Cristiane Cyborg.

Benson Henderson

Bendo_display_image

By now you've probably paced yourself for what many fans consider the best tattoo in MMA:

The Wings.

Any guesses on how much this one might have run Benson Henderson?

Randy Couture

Couture_display_image

If UFC legend Randy Couture has a tattoo, then it's a green light for us all to get one.

Lean, mean, beatdown machine.

Erin McDougall

Erin_display_image

Many of you will ask, who is Erin McDougall?

Does it really matter? Check out that tattoo.

Roger Huerta

Huerta_display_image

The question isn't what do Roger Huerta's tattoos mean, but which one is the best?

Huerta is home to several of the best tattoos in MMA history.

Jake Shields

Shields_display_image

Jake Shields' tattoo states, "American Jiu-Jitsu."

However, it's not the print that makes Shields' tattoo stand out, but the winged bird involved.

Kid Yamamoto

Kid_display_image

If you've never seen Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto's tattoo before, have at it.

Yamamoto's tattoo is filled with perplexity, color, creative design and everything above.

"Kid" has several tattoos, but this one takes the cake.
