WWE Raw Results: Top 15 Moments from Last Night's Show

Justin WatryDec 20, 2011

WWE Raw was a good show last night. It was not as eventful as others, but I liked it that way. Give the fans a nice, calm show before the holidays. Let everybody breathe a little bit before the Royal Rumble.

My grade for the show would be in B range. Maybe a C+? With that being said, let's get to the top moments from the Supershow Monday night!

15. Hornswoggle Kisses Vickie

1 of 15

Hornswoggle is a great WWE talent. Does this man ever disappoint? He is a loyal star. He never gets in trouble. He has no reported incidents from his peers.

The man is a professional. Good for him getting some television time each week. This week, he was featured in a funny backstage segment giving a kiss to Vickie Guerrero. Lucky guy!

14. Alicia Fox Shines Again

2 of 15

Who was trending worldwide on Twitter?

Who pinned Beth Phoenix clean in one minute?

Who cut a great promo after the match?

Alicia Fox.

Get ready for more of her because she is wonderful. I welcome her future WWE diva's title match. Congrats on the big win! I do hope Beth is OK, though...

13. Rosa Is the Star

3 of 15

Rosa Mendes is the real star of the Primo and Epico tag team. They are two talented wrestlers, but Rosa just captures the attention instantly.

They picked up a nice win over the Uso brothers, but the crowd really had no emotional investment into this segment. That is fine. They are just starting, but a proper introduction for either team could have helped a lot.

12. Prophetless 2012

4 of 15

WWE aired yet another vignette for January 2nd, 2012's big Raw show. This week, we only got a two statements. One was about not helping anymore. The other was about making us understand.

"Do you understand what I am saying to you?" Sounds like what Jericho used to say!

The other "clue" was that the notebook seems to have the name "Chris" crossed out. Is it clear? No. It is definite? No. Could it mean nothing? Yes.

I have long said these videos really mean nothing, and I still stand by it. One week, clues point one direction. The next show, hints will point in a different direction.

I still stand by my prediction of Chris Jericho, and I do not need any videos to tell me he is returning to WWE soon. Long shots are Undertaker, Batista, Skip Sheffield or the McMahons.

11. Opening Segment

5 of 15

The opening with Zack Ryder, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk was really fun. It was something different, and I enjoyed each promo.

The best part was how much the titles were put over. Each man made it seem like winning the championship was a huge deal. That is what I want to hear. People work their entire lives for a WWE title win, so I want to feel the emotion.

Punk did an amazing job. Ryder was good (very little comedy) and Bryan did a fine job putting over his major moment at WWE TLC.

Eventually, a group of heels got involved, and the main event match was made. Nice use of Johnny Ace here. Short, sweet and to the point!

10. Orton and Barrett

6 of 15

I had no reason to see these two wrestle again, but their segment was nice. Randy Orton and Wade Barrett fought for awhile, and there was no real winner. However, it was all about the post-match.

Wade got his "heat" back from the previous night when he put Orton through a table Monday night. It was a good night for the heel, and Orton continues his great 2011.

9. Sheamus Continues to Win

7 of 15

I am a huge Sheamus fan. I think Jinder Mahal has potential, but it is not his time to shine. The next few months are going to be all about making Sheamus look like a million bucks.

I do not care if it is a short match. I do not care if it is a tag match. I do not care if it is a long match. Sheamus just needs to keep winning. He did just that on Raw. Keep it up, WWE!

8. Cody Rhodes Defeats Santino

8 of 15

I liked their backstage promo. It was a funny segment that led to a short match. Cody Rhodes is another guy who just needs to keeping winning matches. Santino is the perfect opponent for the Intercontinental Champion.

Rhodes won the match, and he has plenty to brag about on Smackdown. Speaking of which, how many finishers does Cody have now?

7. The Philly Crowd

9 of 15

I have to comment on the live audience last night.

I love loud and excited WWE crowds. They can make an average show good and a good show great. However, sometimes some are "too smart" for their own good.

I mentioned this before, but the Madison Square Garden crowd at Survivor Series chanted for D'Lo Brown, HBK, Undertaker and others. Why? I have no idea, but it really was not needed.

Last night, "smart" fans broke out a Sexual Chocolate chant. Why? Again, I have no idea.

It was not funny. It was not clever. It ruined a good segment, and these types of things really do not add to the show. They take away from the show.

Be loud. Be excited. Cheer for whoever you want. Keep the language clean. At the same time, try to enjoy the show! There is a fine line between freedom of speech and just ruining the show for others...

6. Big Show Promo

10 of 15

Uh-oh!

Big Show did not seem happy last night. He lost the World title to Daniel Bryan and was none to pleased. I wouldn't be happy about losing the belt, either.

He tried to laugh it off, but it was not happening. Somebody is about to turn heel. Big Show or Daniel Bryan? The Blue Brand is about to get even more interesting.

5. Kane and Cena Segment

11 of 15

I liked this segment.

John Cena and Kane were the main focus here, and each man did a good job. I think it is firmly established that Kane is the heel, while Cena is the face. That part was great.

The "smothering" Cena part I could have done without, but it did lead to more questions than answers about the Big Red Machine. I loved the fact that Kane has not spoken yet.

I still have my doubts about this being some "epic comeback" for the masked man, but he played his role well last night. Cena will look for some revenge next week...

4. Ricardo Was Not There

12 of 15

I really hope this was just a part of the story. I really hope he is not seriously hurt.

As most know by now, Ricardo Rodriguez took a really nasty fall at WWE TLC. He was not on Raw last night.

I was very clear with my view on this topic. That "spot" with him falling off the top of the ladder Sunday night was dangerous. It was just too much, and his landing proved my fears to be correct.

I know he is trained to be a wrestler, but that doesn't matter. His bump was way too risky to even attempt, and it was not worth it. Again, I really hope he is fine and that WWE just played up his injury to further the story.

3. No Kevin Nash or Triple H

13 of 15

What does Triple H do next? There was very little mention of him last night.

The announcers played up Kevin Nash more than they did The Game. They said Diesel would be gone for six weeks. That leads us to the Royal Rumble, so who knows?

I wouldn't be surprised if Nash was done in WWE, but I do wonder what Triple H does until WrestleMania. I have said for eight months now that he will face Undertaker in Miami come April 1st, 2012.

Does he rest until then? We shall find out...

2. Main Event Fun

14 of 15

This was fun.

All six men put on a very entertaining six-man tag team match, and the faces stood tall at the end of the evening. I do have to mention a few things.

1. Dolph Ziggler was almost invisible last night. I am fine with that right now, but if it continues, I will not be. He is much too talented.

2. The ref put up the "X" signal at the end of the match for Del Rio. I hope he is fine. Him and Miz really do work well together on the same team.

3. I loved the new champions coming through the crowd for their entrances. It was a nice, "one-time" event for the fans, and it really looked awesome.

4. For anybody who has ever gone to a live event (house show), this is exactly how every event ends. I do not say that as an insult. It is just a good match, followed by the faces celebrating ringside. It is an easy formula, and it works every single time.

Loved the ending! However, one issue gets the top spot today. I am going to try and keep this positive, but it was not a good thing to see...

1. Mark Henry Needs to Be off WWE TV

15 of 15

Safety comes first. Always has, always will.

He was advertised to be on Smackdown this week, and he appeared on Raw last night. I do not approve of that one bit. He needs to be off WWE TV right now.

The man is injured. He is clearly not in any condition to perform. We can all see that, thus he needs to go heal up. The man's health is way more important than anything else.

Yes, he did not do anything physical. Yes, he cut a great promo. However, he is hurt. He can't do anything in the ring, so take the man off the show.

I would not have had him even compete on Sunday. No joking. He did not even take a single fall on Sunday, outside of the punch from Big Show. He couldn't even suplex him onto the chairs after the match. He went for a weak DDT instead to lay out Show.

Again, he needs to go get better. The last thing anybody wants is for him to re-injure himself. Take him off the road for as long as it takes. Let him recover, then bring him back. Safety comes first!
