I had speculated in an earlier article about the possibility of Kane and Cena going into a feud after Kane returned this past Monday and choke-slammed Cena before revealing his new mask.
It looks more likely that this may now be happening after the second attack on Cena in a single week. Granted, this was at a house show and would not be seen by most people, but why have him do it at all?
The logical feud for Kane to get into after returning would have been the man who put him on the shelf in the first place—Mark Henry.
Henry was in the ring when Kane made his appearance this past Monday but bailed before Kane could get to him, so some people speculated that Kane simply attacked Cena out of frustration.
While I understand this reasoning, I do not agree with it for one simple reason: WWE needs more heels who have credibility as monsters.
Take a look at WWE right now, the heels are less these days than they have been in awhile, and only Henry is really doing any major damage to his opponents.
With Brodus Clay's debut being held off again and again, I would not be surprised to see Kane be a heel going forward.
My hope is to not only see Kane feud with Cena, but to become a major player in the WWE title picture again.
Another possible direction WWE could take may involve whoever is returning on January 2nd.
Whatever the case may be, we will just have to wait and see what Kane has planned.
What would you think of a Kane/Cena feud?
