G DNov 28, 2011

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has quickly established itself as one of the fastest growing organizations in the world.

A major reason for this growth is the spectacular entertainment and excitement these fighters provide to fans and viewers across the globe.

Not only are many of these individuals fighters, but athletes as well.

And, like any other sport, many of these athletes could be prospects for the sport of basketball.

So, the following slides display five potential NBA prospects in the UFC.

Let's take a look.

PG: Jose Aldo

While Jose Aldo certainly isn't recognized as a basketball player by any stretch of the imagination, he has done his fair share of basketball trick shots.

And, if you haven't seen it, watch his trick shot here.

If Aldo's soccer skills are anything like his ball handling, he'll make for the perfect point guard.

Aldo stands just 5'7'' but would make for an explosive floor leader.

SG: Pablo Garza

2 of 5

While Pablo Garza certainly isn't one of the best fighters in the UFC today, he may very well be the best basketball player.

In regards to his skills on the court, Garza said, "I could beat 95 percent of the UFC fighters, by far, in hoops."

Garza stands 6'1'' and would play the shooting guard position.

SF: Jon Jones

3 of 5

Despite never having played basketball throughout his high school years, Jon "Bones" Jones is one of the best athletes in the UFC today.

PF: Travis Browne

4 of 5

While many fans don't realize it, Travis Browne is a former collegiate basketball player.

While Browne chose the path that has led him to success inside the Octagon, he could have easily pursued a career on the court.

Browne stands 6'7'' and weighs 255 pounds, which is the perfect size for a power forward.

C: Stefan Struve

5 of 5

While it's unclear whether or not Stefan Struve would be an effective center if he were to have chosen the path of basketball, he certainly has the size.

Struve, the tallest man in the UFC, stands 6'11'' and weighs just a tad under 265 pounds.

The Skyscraper's 84'' reach would give him a huge advantage on the boards.
