Arkansas vs. LSU: Which Fan Chant Is More Obnoxious?
“Woo Pig Sooie” and “Geaux Tigers,” two of the most iconic chants in all of college football, are fixtures in Baton Rouge, La., at Tiger Stadium for LSU games and in Fayetteville, Ark., at Razorback Stadium for Arkansas games.
But, with anything you hear constantly, you get to the point where hearing that same thing over and over again starts to become obnoxious.
Just as a quick refresher for those who don’t follow the Razorbacks or the Tigers, here’s a clip of each chant at their best on game days:
"Woo Pig Sooie" gets the nod in this article for the more obnoxious chant. "Geaux Tigers" is pretty much the typical team chant, but spelled with the French flavor of Louisiana.
What if someone is a vegetarian and even hearing the word pig makes them upset?
Also, the slow cadence of the chant might not be a great way to get newer fans pumped up when the Razorbacks are down late in a big SEC conference tilt at Razorback stadium.
If I were to go to an Arkansas game, my enjoyment of the chant would quickly diminish as the game went on.
In the end, the "Woo Pig Sooie" chant is more of a "Blah Pig Sooie" when it's compared to "Geaux Tigers" chant, but we'll see for ourselves when the respective student sections start to chant in today's No.1 vs. No. 3 matchup in Baton Rouge.
There is no need to be upset, Arkansas fans; this was just a simple sarcastic take on the art of college football chants.
