CM Punk is the new WWE champion. That much is clear.

What’s next for the star after knocking Alberto del Rio back to the midcard is being inundated with rumors.

The most likely option will be that after the feud with ADR concludes sooner rather than later, CM Punk will begin working a program with The Miz.

For The Miz, the plan all along was to move him onto a singles feud with whoever was the WWE champion at the time before WrestleMania, but the suspension of R-Truth for 30 days has sped up the process.

There is no current direction for The Miz. WWE has such an infatuation with this kid that leaving him out of a program for too long is not an option.

The company saw how much success the feud with John Cena had last year, with The Miz beating Cena at WrestleMania. They want to recapture that fire when The Miz takes on Mr. Pipebomb himself, CM Punk.

For this feud, I am looking forward to the war of words far more than the ring battle that ensues.

I think The Miz is mediocre at best when it comes to his actual wrestling skills, but what he is great at is being a heel. Miz comes off as such an arrogant heel and fans just love to hate the former reality TV star.

What separates the Miz from the rest of the midcard talent is his ability to work the mic. With CM Punk being as dangerous talking as he is in the ring, this feud has all the makings of being one of the best in WWE history.

It’s obvious CM Punk will carry the feud in the ring, but what’s also obvious is that these two men will have the WWE universe eating out of their hands heading into WrestleMania.

Let’s just hope WWE actually follows through and makes this happen. I’m tired of Alberto del Rio’s destiny.
