Real Madrid Video: Watch Madrid Swarm Dinamo Zagreb with Early Barrage in Rout
Jose Mourinho cleverly selected a Real Madrid starting XI full of players with a lot to prove on Tuesday, and the result was an early barrage that saw the current La Liga leaders dominate Dinamo Zagreb with four goals in just 20 minutes.
Zagreb's defense was completely torn apart in the opening two minutes as Madrid passed the ball with ease into the penalty box, where French striker Karim Benzema finished well.
Jose Callejon added a goal just four minutes later with a solid strike against a totally helpless Zagreb defense.
It was really a match of men versus boys at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Gonzalo Higuain added another, and so did Mesut Ozil at the 20-minute mark to make the game a complete laughing fest.
The only disappointing part of Tuesday's big win for Madrid was that Zagreb scored two goals in the last 10 minutes to break the Spanish giant's perfect goal record in UEFA Champions League group stage.
No team has ever gone an entire Champions League group phase without allowing a goal. Madrid has already clinched first place in Group D and can now focus on the knockout stages.
Let's make a list of things worse than Zagreb's defense:
1. My mother's cooking (please don't tell her)
2. Andre Villas-Boas' chances to last the season at Chelsea
3. Fernando Torres' chances at succeeding at Chelsea
4. Eden Hazard staying at Lille this January
5. The Indianapolis Colts
