The WWE is in a much better place now that CM Punk is on top of the company. The situation could be much better if Rob Van Dam was in the mix.

Rumors have been circulating about a possible return to the WWE for the former champion, but nothing seems serious at this point.

If this does come to fruition, the WWE needs to act fast and make this happen.

For one, the WWE would get back one of its greatest WWE champions in RVD who has been stranded on the midcard of TNA because of poor booking.

Before RVD’s departure from WWE, he was the ECW champion and WWE champion and one of the biggest draws in the company. He still has that power.

CM Punk has a unique style in the ring that doesn’t necessarily work well with other wrestlers. There may not be a more suited opponent for CM Punk that Rob Van Dam.

Both men are amazing in the ring, buts it’s their willingness and ability to sell out moves for their opponent would make this one of the greatest feuds in WWE history.

Neither wrestler is satisfied putting on a mediocre match, so this feud would be five-star match after five-star match.

We also can forget that CM Punk is a student of the game. Since he comes from Ring of Honor that followed in the same mold ECW did when it started, it would be safe to say that RVD was one of the guys Punk tried to emulate.

While RVD can still put on one hell of a hardcore match and can rolling thunder back into our hearts, WWE needs to do the smart thing and make this happen.

Imagine a CM Punk vs. Rob Van Dam stretcher match. Epic.
