Dana White: "UFC 139's Hendo-Shogun Was the Greatest Fight I've Ever Seen"

Dan Henderson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua entered the Octagon at UFC 139 with no idea how their lives were about to change.

In what would go down as one of the greatest performances of all time, Henderson escaped with a close unanimous decision victory over Rua.

When action began it was Henderson who displayed his exceptional striking skills by landing rights and lefts to the midsection and face of Rua.

After a huge right uppercut, "Shogun" appeared to be rocked as the main event looked to be coming to a close quick.

But, it was just the opposite, as the all-out-war was just beginning.

Henderson continued his dominance in the second and third frame by imposing his will via vicious strikes.

However, despite how controlling Henderson was, he simply could not put away the Brazilian legend.

Rua would regain life in the fourth round as the San Jose, California, crowd could not believe what they were witnessing.

History was being made as Rua was beginning to put on one of the greatest comebacks of all time.

And, "Shogun" came back even stronger in the fifth and final round as it appeared he was close to finishing off Henderson.

Similar to Henderson, Rua could not finish his opponent as the bout headed to the judge's scorecards for a decision.

Henderson was declared victorious as all the judge's ruled the bout 48-47, 48-47, and 48-47.

Following their historical bout, UFC President Dana White broke news when he announced that Henderson and Rua's bout was the best fight he's ever seen.

In an interview White stated, "It could be the best fight ever in MMA. I said top three to give myself some leeway."

White continued by stating, "It was the greatest fight I've ever seen. I have to commend the whole card."
