Swedish Hockey Video: Watch Most Wonderfully Ridiculous Goal in Hockey History

Woeful turned into ridiculous which begot hilarious recently in a match between Västerås and Malmö. If you have never heard of those teams, well you just aren't keeping up with your Swedish hockey highlights. 

Jonte Berg, a winger for Västerås, had a break away that looked primed to deliver a guaranteed goal, then it looked guaranteed to fail, then it succeeded. If that sounds confusing that's only because it really is the silliest thing I have seen in sometime. 

Berg rears back to really slap home a wallop, that's precisely the moment that his stick breaks, sending the puck to trickle aimlessly, at the slowest of paces. 

What should have been an easy save for the keeper turns into a Three Stooges skit as two defenders clamor around the elusive puck. 

One defender kicks it onto the skate of another which sends the puck in for a wild goal. You can go with ping pong or pinball for a fitting simile, I will go with circus. 

The keeper had to have shouted, "Are you (expletive deleted) kidding me? I mean are you two serious?" The best part is seeing Berg race around the rink with his broken stick in the air in a moment of sheer triumphant. 

If you started the video from that moment, you may have figured that Berg just did something epic to score a goal. No, Berg failed miserably. 

The fact that Malmö defenders failed on a grander scale is the only reason the puck went through the net. I want to give a special shout out to all hockey players involved for lifting my spirits in a video that needs to have Yakety Sax in the background to make perfect.
