Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3: Tale of the Tape and Undercard Predictions
Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez are going to square up for the third time this Saturday, Nov. 12 on HBO pay-per-view.
The first time these two juggernauts squared off, it ended it a draw and no one left satisfied. The last time, it ended in the narrowest possible split-decision in Pacquiao’s favor. That did nothing but anger Marquez, who has been wearing a shirt that says, “Marquez beat Pacquiao Twice!” in Pacquiao’s Philippines homeland.
This has now angered Pacquiao, who is reportedly training to "kill" Marquez.
It will be a good fight between two rivals who hate each other.
Let’s take a closer look at this bout and the undercard.
Where: MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, NV
When: Saturday, Nov. 12 at 9 p.m. EDT
Watch: HBO Pay-Per-View, DirectTV 123, 124.
Cost: $54.95—Standard Def, 64.95—High Def.
Undercards
Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Joel Casamayor
This is an interesting fight between an undefeated 28-year-old in Bradley Jr. versus a 40-year-old brawler in Casamayor on a tailspin out of boxing.
I predict Bradley wins this and improves his record to a perfect 28-0.
He may be the next fighter to go against Pacquiao if Floyd Mayweather doesn’t man up.
Mike Alvarado vs. Breidis Prescott
Alvarado is undefeated at 31 years old and is going against Prescott, who is out for revenge for his last fight in which he lost.
Both of these guys go for the knockout, and we will see some hard punches thrown all fight long. I think Alvarado edges Prescott in the end.
Luis Cruz vs. Juan Carlos Burgos
These junior lightweights are both solid fighters, and Burgos has the only loss between the two.
Both go for the knockout as well, and it should be great to watch. I expect Burgos to take it down in an upset victory.
Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez
Pacquiao is going to attempt to kill Marquez, and it should be fun to watch his aggressive style against Marquez counter-punching methods.
Pacquiao is standing at 5’6.5" with a 67-inch reach, and he should weigh in anywhere between the welterweight mandated 140-147 pounds for the fight.
Marquez is nearly equal, standing in at 5’7” with a 67-inch reach as well, and he will weigh close to 145 pounds on Nov. 12 as well.
Pacquiao might have the mental edge on Marquez, as he really is upset with the man and is training extremely hard to finish him off and shut him up.
Prediction: Pacquiao KO’s Marquez.
