Liverpool FC Plotting Carlos Tevez Deal with Manchester City in January?
Rumours are circulating that Kenny Dalglish is targeting Manchester City's Carlos Tevez in the January transfer market on a short-term loan deal.
Tevez is out of favour with City boss Roberto Mancini over their very public bust-up following Tevez's refusal to warm up for a Champions League game, and a loan deal may be best for all parties concerned.
Tevez has made it very clear he wishes to move, but in order to do that he needs to attract clubs through good performances on the pitch. That looks unlikely to happen with Manchester City, so Liverpool could step in and offer a wage deal until the end of the season.
The move would save Manchester City some money if Liverpool covered Tevez's reported £150,000 weekly salary, and Liverpool would benefit from having the additional striker to help out Luis Suarez. Tevez's wages would prove a small issue if he helped Liverpool regain a Champions League place, at which time they could look and afford a more permanent replacement.
Tevez would surely be keen on such a move, as all footballers like to be getting pitch time, and it assures he will stay fit and in contention for the Argentinean national team, as well as being in the shop window for a permanent transfer.
With Liverpool having recently done business with Manchester City over Craig Bellamy's move, the relationship is already in place to make the necessary enquiries to get the ball rolling.
After all, what do Liverpool have to lose?
