WWE '12: New WWE Video Game Will Be Best Yet
With Christmas just two months away, the WWE’s plan to release its new game in time for the big holiday splurge is ready to go.
WWE '12 is scheduled to be released November 22 in North America and on November 25 in the United Kingdom, and the launch is being viewed as the biggest in wrestling video game history.
This is the first game after the closure of the WWE SmackDown vs. Raw brand of games, and the most impactful in terms of improvements from one year to the next.
As for actual gameplay, the biggest change from last year’s game is the weak/strong grapple system has been removed. This was something that got repetitive and was a bear to learn for different stars.
The wrestler’s moves are now determined by the physical state of their opponents and themselves, making the gameplay that much more realistic.
Along with the changes to how moves are performed, the pinning system and artificial intelligence systems have been greatly improved to make the feel of the game more impactful on the user.
One of the most intriguing additions to the game will be the Dynamic Comebacks system that allows a player about to lose an opportunity to successfully hit a combination of moves to gain two finishing moves.
While WWE '12 will bring back the normal creation modes for superstars, entrances, finishing moves, storylines and highlight reels, the addition of a brand new arena creation system is interesting.
Another exciting addition to the game will be the downloadable characters that this game has including The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Shawn Michaels, Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross, Michael Cole, Road Warriors' alternate attire, the Christian and Edge tag team attires, Trish Stratus, Kharma, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Vickie Guerrero and Alicia Fox.
This WWE '12 game has all the makings to be the best of the series, and all signs point to THQ putting out an amazing product.
