Ohio State Football: Winners and Losers from Buckeyes' Victory over Wisconsin

0 of 7

Freshman quarterback Braxton Miller and Ohio State stunned No. 15 Wisconsin 33-29 on a last-minute hail mary throw.

For the second straight week, the Buckeyes (5-3, 2-2 Big Ten) defeated a ranked conference opponent to get back in the Big Ten race.

Now all Ohio State has to do is win out and hope the Penn State Nittany Lions (8-1, 5-0) will lose a game and make the Big Ten Championship Game a reality.

Who were the winners and losers for Luke Fickell's Buckeyes in this awesome win?

Winner: RB Dan Herron

1 of 7

Senior running back Dan Herron continues to impress after serving his six-game NCAA suspension.

Herron had 33 carries for 160 yards.

No. 1 had runs of 57 yards and 18 yards in the third quarter, setting up quarterback Braxton Miller's one-yard touchdown run for a 10-7 Buckeyes lead.

Loser: TE Jake Stoneburner

2 of 7

Junior tight end Jake Stoneburner is the team leader in touchdown receptions and had a score the past two games.

Against Wisconsin, Stoneburner had no catches and was extremely quiet in the passing attack.

Winner: WR Devin Smith

3 of 7

Freshman wide receiver Devin Smith had only one catch for four yards his last two games.

He also had one grab against the Badgers, but it was the most important catch of his young career.

Smith successfully wrestled down a 40-yard touchdown throw from quarterback Braxton Miller for the game-winning score with only 20 seconds left.

That was his third touchdown this season on just nine catches.

Loser: CB Bradley Roby

4 of 7

Freshman defensive back Bradley Roby had some bad mental breakdowns.

In the first quarter, Wisconsin junior running back Monte Ball juked Roby inside Ohio State's 5-yard line to score from 22 yards out.

It did not get any better as Wisconsin sophomore wide receiver Jared Abbrederis beat Roby on a 17-yard touchdown to tighten the Buckeyes' lead to 26-21 in the fourth.

Winner: QB Braxton Miller

5 of 7

Quarterback Braxton Miller was a dual threat, producing 188 yards of total offense Saturday.

Miller was 7-of-12 for 89 yards and a touchdown, while gaining 99 yards on 19 carries for two scores.

In the third quarter, Miller ran one yard out to give the Buckeyes a 10-7 lead.

No. 5 then had a 44-yard touchdown run off left tackle to push the lead to 26-14 with under five minutes remaining.

The Badgers exploded for two touchdowns to make it 29-26 with under 1:30 left.

Braxton then rolled right for the 40-yard completion and touchdown to freshman wideout Devin Smith to win the game.

Miller showed poise in the pocket and great leadership under pressure.

Loser: FS Christian Bryant

6 of 7

Sophomore free safety Chrisitian Bryant could have cost the Buckeyes the game.

With under 90 seconds left, and a 26-21 lead, Bryant did not recognize that Wisconsin sophomore wide receiver Jared Abbrederis was wide open on the right side.

Bryant did not react and adjust from his zone to cover Abbrederis in time, allowing the score and go-ahead tally from 49 yards out.

Winner: RB Jordan Hall

7 of 7

Running back Jordan Hall had a stellar game for Ohio State; the junior had 10 returns for 135 yards, including a 42-yarder.

Hall also scored a two-yard touchdown in the third quarter to make it 17-7 Ohio State, his second touchdown of the year.
