Who Will Be the Next Great NHL Leaders?
Of all the great young players that are in todays NHL, I ask my fellow fans this:
Who are the players who have that unquestionable leadership? Who are the ones who have the most heart?
In short, who will be the Yzermans and Sakics of the future?

I will put forward the young players that I think best show those leadership qualities.
The first player I put before you is young player by the name of Paul Stastny.
Stastny has already shown in his first two years in the NHL that he can score. He has also shown in his play on the ice one of those rare qualities only a certain few possess—the quality of being a leader without demanding it, but knowing that it is expected of you.
Stastny has the potential to become a player as well known as Yzerman and Sakic are. He is also someone who will learn (and has learned) from Sakic how to be that leader that everyone wants to have on their team.
Another player who has shown similar traits is none other than Zach Parise. He has shown that he is a scorer. He has shown that he has heart. The only question remains, will he become a leader?
I believe that it is a great possibility that Parise can become a great leader. My only question is this: Who will teach him how?
Unlike Statsny, the New Jersey Devils are devoid of any great leadership since the departure of Niedermeyer. Granted, Brodeur still remains, but can a goaltender teach a forward how to lead on the ice? Certainly he can teach him how to lead off it and in the dressing room.
Hopefully all goes well, and we will see these two rising stars become great players, and carry on the great names that are on the back of their jerseys. Certainly these players' fathers, who played so well themselves in the NHL, must be proud of their sons and the players they have become.
