Real Madrid appears to be peaking. They have won five consecutive matches and have scored an impressive 21 goals in that stretch. They will look to keep that dominance going against Villarreal in this La Liga clash.

Meanwhile, Villarreal will be trying desperately to get some momentum of their own going. They have battled to draws in their last three La Liga matches.

Player to Watch for Real Madrid: Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo is a joy to watch. Well, unless you are a fan of the team he is playing. Then he is just maddening. And that is because Ronaldo can break down a defense as good as anyone.

Ronaldo is one of the world's best players, and he is at the peak of his capabilities this year.

Player to Watch for Villarreal: Guiseppe Rossi

Rossi is turning in a very solid campaign. The 24-year-old forward leads his squad with three goals in seven La Liga matches.

Rossi will have to be at his dynamic best in this one if Villarreal is going to hang with Real.

Key Matchup: Diego Lopez vs. Cristiano Ronaldo

Lopez has been struggling in goal for Villarreal. He has conceded eight goals while saving just 23. He is going to have to step up his play, or Ronaldo is going to have a field day.

What They're Saying: There have been recent rumors speculating that Guiseppe Rossi would seek a transfer from Villarreal. His agent dispelled those rumors and addressed his comments.

"Villarreal came unstuck against the Premier Legue giants and lost 2-1 after taking an early lead through Cani.

City's revival was made easy by Carlos Marchena, who scored an own goal before Sergio Aguero stole an injury-time winner.

'Rossi was angry and disappointed after the loss. He had hoped to earn Villarreal's first point in the Champions League,' Pastorello told Radio Kiss Kiss.

'However, he is really concentrated on doing well for Villarreal in Spain as this is his fourth season there.'

Rossi, 24, has long been linked with a return to Serie A and Napoli have been tipped as frontrunners for his signature once the transfer window opens in January.

But the agent declined to stretch his immagination on what the future holds for the Italy international.

'We are tranquil in terms of transfers. It is too early to speak about the market now. Rossi is happy at Villarreal,' he added."

Score Prediction: Real Madrid 4, Villarreal 1

Madrid is playing excellent, and if they play their best, Villarreal simply cannot compete with them.
