Premier League Manager of the Month: November

Jamie WardDec 3, 2008

After another busy month of Premier League highs and lows, November has brought with it some interesting results: Who do you think deserves the manager of the month award this time around?

  • Rafa Benitez: The Spaniard has seen the club's best ever start to a Premier League season continue through November as Liverpool top the league by one point. The beginning of the month saw Liverpool lose their first game of the season away to Spurs, however they still managed two wins and a draw to gain seven points from a possible 12 available.
  • Luiz Felipe Scolari: With only the second loss of the season coming at home to Arsenal and the disappointing goalless draw against Newcastle the only hiccups for Chelsea in November, despite a poor run of form recently their five matches have still managed to produce 10 from 15 points.

  • Alex Ferguson: After a slow start to the campaign, the United manager has helped his team move up a gear and top the league form table. With the loss to Arsenal and a draw away to Villa the only points dropped, they have managed 10 from 15 available in November
  • David Moyes: With a disappointing and inconsistent first three months, Everton have put a great run of games together in November and moved up to seventh in the league. They are second in the form table with the same 10 points from 15 available as Man United and Chelsea.
  • Gary Megson: Sitting proudly at ninth in the table, Bolton have lost only one game in their last five and have a very worthy 12 points from 15. Three of those four victories have also been away from the Reebok Stadium.
  • Steve Bruce: On the back of four straight defeats during October, Steve Bruce has managed to turn his teams fortunes around with 11 points from the 15 up for grabs in November. With notable victories over Portsmouth and Everton, the Wigan manager has helped his team to claw their way back up the league table
  • Roy Hodgson: With two good draws against Liverpool and Aston Villa and a very respectable victory over a renewed Spurs team, Fulham have seen a great November of results tie them in the form table with Liverpool, gaining the London club 11 from the 15 points possible.
  • Tony Pulis: Newly promoted Stoke City managed to beat Arsenal at the start of November, before an unfortunate 5-0 thrashing by Man United. With two draws and another win under their belt, Tony Pulis has seen his team manage eight points from the 15 on offer.
  • Harry Redknapp: The start of November saw a rejuvenated Tottenham narrowly beat a high flying Liverpool. Harry Redknapp led his team on to achieve victories over Man City and Blackburn to pick up nine points in total from 15 available for the month.

So now you have seen the nine candidates for this months award: Do you think you can pick the manager who deserves commendation for his teams efforts in November?
