Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles Are the NFL's Biggest Frauds

Tony SantorsaOct 9, 2011

Let the roast of the Philadelphia Eagles begin.

The Philadelphia Eagles, the "Dream Team"—yeah, right.

What if I were to tell you that the Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers would all have beaten the Dream Team this season, and each has a better record entering Week 6? You would have probably called me crazy.

Well I'm not crazy. However, the Eagles' putrid start to season is, and it's a reality.

The Eagles will now enter Week 6 with an embarrassing, underachieving record of 1-4.

Dating back to Week 1, the Eagles looked impressive in their 31-13 victory over the lousy St. Louis Rams. But who in the world would have predicted the Eagles to lose the next four consecutive games? No one made those wild predictions.

The Eagles are been nothing short of awful this season and, quite frankly, they're a bunch of frauds. All the way from Michael Vick to Andy Reid and from DeSean Jackson to Nnamdi Asomugha—the Eagles are frauds. It's plain a simple.

A team this loaded with talent on both sides of the ball should not have a 1-4 record. In fact, the team should have only lost a grand total of four games this season. It's now Week 6, and Philly has already reached the maximum.

Philadelphia has blown two leads on the year, one to the Atlanta Falcons back in Week 2 and the other last week against the San Francisco 49ers. In Week 2, the Eagles were up by 10 points, and last week, the team had a commanding 23-3 early in the third quarter.

Add those two choke jobs along with two putrid performances from Vick against the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills—combining to throw five interceptions—the team is now standing where they are right now at 1-4.

There should be no excuses coming out of the Eagles' locker room; it's all on the players and it's all on Reid and his entire coaching staff.

The team that Howie Roseman constructed in this year's shortened offseason was incredible on paper. Roseman brought in arguably the NFL's top cornerback, Nnamdi Asomugha, as well as Cullen Jenkins and Jason Babin to held the team's pass rush as well as trading for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

Being incredible on paper and the most overused team in EA Sport's Madden 12, well that simply doesn't translate to dominance in the regular season or a Super Bowl victory.

There is no way to lay a direct blame on any player or coach, as this is a team sport and the Eagles are in this embarrassing situation as a team.

Moving forward people may wonder if the team will even make the playoffs. At 1-4, they're at the very bottom of the competitive NFC East and it's time to check their vital signs.

Depending on the team orchestrating a turnaround for the ages, the 2011 version of the Philadelphia Eagles will be labeled as the biggest frauds in NFL history.
