Arsenal News: Bacary Sagna Injury Another Blow to Struggling Gunners Defense
Arsenal's 2-1 loss at the hands of London rival Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday was highlighted by an injury suffered by first choice right back Bacary Sagna.
Sagna collided with Spurs defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto along the sidelines in the second half, and it appeared that he injured his ankle.
He was carried off the field and went down the tunnel on a stretcher.

Arsene Wenger replaced Sagna with young Carl Jenkinson, and the Arsenal defense was once again in ruins.
Sagna is one of the few talented and experienced defenders Arsenal have healthy, but it appears that hasn't lasted for long. His injury looked serious, and without Sagna, the Arsenal defense will be even worse.
They are already without star centerback Thomas Vermaelen, who has targeted a return in the middle of October.
The Gunners have allowed 16 goals this season and have scored only 10. That is a horrible record for a team who despite being burdened by injuries, has too much talent for that negative goal difference.
Away from the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal has one draw and four losses.
Arsenal's summer signings of German center back Per Mertesacker and Brazilian left back Andre Santos haven't performed to expectations in their short tenure at Arsenal, and have not adjusted to the Premier League well.
The best news for Arsenal is they don't play another game for two weeks, when they host Sunderland. Three days after that they face Marseille in the Champions League, who are a very good Ligue 1 team from France.
Arsenal's defense was poor again today, and if they don’t improve at the back they will not be retuning to European competition next season, and could even face a battle to avoid relegation.
The Gunners can't wait until the January transfer window to correct the defense. Something must be done now.
