WWE: 4 Reasons John Cena's Title Reign Will Be a Long One

0 of 4

Being a fan of John Cena is pretty taboo in the IWC these days. Many of us are tired of seeing him with the WWE Championship in tow (myself included), but whether we like it or not, John Cena is the face of the WWE.

He is THE TOP GUY in WWE right now, and he has quite a few years ahead of him at the top of the heap. Here are four reasons why John Cena will be the champion, or at least a championship contender, for a long time to come.

He Is One of the More Talented Superstars at This Point

I'm probably going to catch some heat for this one, but John Cena is a very talented performer.

He gets a lot of flak from the IWC for his "five moves of doom", but as recently as Summerslam he has proven that he belongs in the main event with the bout he had with the IWC Champion CM Punk.

In the past, he has put on classic matches with the likes of Chris Jericho (who claims to have vouched for Cena's talent since day one), Shawn Michaels, and Triple H.

There Aren't Any Other Viable Superstars to Carry the Company

Now, I don't mean this to say that there are no other viable superstars that can hold the gold. We in the IWC can put endless names forward on that front. The WWE suits don't believe that there is a superstar viable enough to carry the company.

With the semi-retirements of The Undertaker and Triple H, and big names like Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels and Edge all leaving for various reasons and Rey Mysterio being on the shelf, the main event talent as of now is paper-thin.

The upcoming Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event is showcasing the thee guys who are RAW's main event scene at this point from a storyline standpoint in Cena, CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio.

From a business standpoint however, the WWE brass don't believe that CM Punk or Alberto Del Rio can handle being the top guy or move as much merchandise (WWE is a business after all) as the more established Cena, hence their short title reigns.

John Cena vs. The Rock at WrestleMania XXVIII

WrestleMania many still be over six months away; however, six months ago it was announced that the main event at WrestleMania XXVIII will be The Rock vs John Cena and at one point it was said the match would be for the WWE Championship.

It's very plain to see with the way that the two top-tier belts have been booked lately that Cena will be the champion heading into Survivor Series and beyond.

I can honestly see after Cena and Rock fight side-by-side at Survivor Series, the two men will get in a short scuffle with Rock coming out on top after a Rock Bottom and hoisting the WWE Championship high above his head.

It'll get a huge pop from the crowd and make for more content in the highlight package for WrestleMania.

His Booking

I hear it thrown around a lot that Cena has enough clout to say what he will and won't do as far as the ideas that creative bounces off of him, but imagine you're in his shoes.

Would you really tell your boss that you didn't want to be the face of the company?

Would you really reject an idea to get another guy over?

Would you really walk away from all the money that Cena makes simply to make a small section of the fans happy?

The IWC hero CM Punk has even said that he wouldn't walk away from that if he was given the chance.

John Cena is one of the best talents in the wrestling world right now, and for him to walk away from that simply to please us just isn't going to happen. So he is going to continue to be booked as a Superman character who can beat all odds and always come out on top.

The WWE brass wants their top guy at the top, and that's where Cena is going to be for quite some time.
