WWE Night of Champions: Why The Miz and R-Truth Will Defeat AirBoom

The team of Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne won their Tag Team Championship title two weeks ago on Monday night RAW and have been christened with the team name of "AirBoom."

Since winning the belts, Kingston and Bourne beat the previous champions, Michael Mcgillicutty and David Otunga, a week ago, and followed that up with a win over Jinder Mahal and the Great Kahli this week on RAW.

Last night, before the match between R-Truth and CM Punk, Miz and Truth made a statement about their current status in the WWE.

It was a great promo that was pretty funny at times, but the main point that Miz got across was that he and Truth were going to challenge AirBoom for their Tag Team Championship at Night of Champions in two weeks. And they were going to win.

So this begs the question, will Kingston and Bourne be able to defend at Night of Champions?

In their time working together as a tag team, they have won four matches. They won three against the former New Nexus champions and one against Mahal and Kahli. None of these opponents are anything special in the WWE today, and there was no doubt that AirBoom should have won those matches.

But R-Truth and the Miz are a completely different story.

As we hear from Miz all the time, he was the WWE Champion headlining Wrestlemania a few short months ago. We know what he is capable of, and he has proven himself as a legitimate threat.

R-Truth isn't quite the threat that the Miz is, but his character has really exploded onto the scene the last few months. He even found himself in a match for the WWE Championship at Capitol Punishment.

My point through all of this is that they are both a legitimate threat to AirBoom at Night of Champions.

There is no question in my mind that this will be the best Tag Team Championship match that we have seen in quite some time.

Either team could take home the belts.

But, if I had to take a guess, I would say that Miz and Truth will be victorious at the end of the night.

I would love to see AirBoom move forward with the title for a few months, but Miz and Truth simply need the victory to give them the push as a legitimate tag team. It sucks to see Kofi and Bourne lose the belts so quickly, but it would suck even more if Miz and Truth lost after all the great promos and hype that that they have been building for themselves the last few weeks.

If Miz and Truth do win, I have no doubts that AirBoom will come back for a rematch to make a great feud between the two parties, but for now, it is time to let the reign of "The Awesome Truth" begin.

And somebody's gonna' get got!
