UFC 134 Live Results and Aftermath for Rousimar Palhares vs. Dan Miller
To quote Brian Oswald, "this guy has the weirdest fights," but we'll get to that shortly.
About a minute into the fight, Rousimar Palhares pulled guard, and was immediately looking for submissions, but Dan Miller wanted nothing to do with the ground game and stood up as soon as he could.
Soon after, Palhares landed a front kick that rocked Miller, and after a scramble Miller ended up on top, and got back up again.
Palhares is holding the edge in the stand up, and here's where it gets weird.
Palhares landed a head kick that rocked Miller, and he was landing some heavy ground and pound looking to finish the fight, but Palhares thought Herb Dean stopped the fight and began to celebrate, by mounting the cage.
On the restart, Miller rocked Palhares, but recovered and took Miller down to end the round.
As the second round starts, the fight hits the ground, and both competitors are relentlessly looking for submissions.
The entire second round, after the submission attempts, consists of Palhares landing heavy, methodical shots on Miller from the up-down position.
Both fighters are totally gassed in the third round, and nobody lands much of significance, but Palhares has the slight edge.
The decision is read, and Rousimar Palhares (13-3) has a unanimous decision victory over Dan Miller (13-6 [1 NC]), in one of the strangest fights of the year.
