Free Agent List - 2008 Offseason
Here we are again, the most exciting time of the baseball season (other than the trade deadline) for all baseball fans. This is the time where franchises are rebuilt or taken apart. Teams like the San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, and Colorado Rockies could possibly look to trade key players in exchange for younger, cheaper players. Teams like the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Chicago Cubs - annually known as buyers - will more than likely look at spending quite a bit of money within the next few months.

Below is a list of players (ages in parentheses) who have filed for free agency:

NOTE: Players who play more than one position (ex: Nomar Garciaparra - 1B, SS, 3B) will be listed at every position expected to play next season.

NOTE: Free Agency opens Friday, November 14th.

Many sources related to baseball predict that if the Brewers fail to re-sign CC Sabathia or Ben Sheets, that relief pitcher Brian Fuentes and starting pitcher Jon Garland could be possibilities to come to the Brewers. Fuentes would fill a huge hole at closer, and Garland would be a key innings eater for the Crew next season.

I will try to update this list as much as possible throughout the free agency period.
