John Cena: 10 Reasons He Won't Really Be Fired by WWE
Last week, we all watched with anticipation as Vince McMahon stepped into the ring and attempted to fire John Cena from his role within the WWE.
Then the unthinkable happened- McMahon the Patriarch of the company and the man responsible for Hulkamania, Wrestlemania and every other dynamic production within the wrestling brand, was relieved of his duties by his son-in-law Triple H.
What makes the angle more incredible is that the "Cerebral Assassin" himself will take over day to day dealings and operations of the WWE brands.
What happens to tonight is anybody's guess. But one thing Cena did say is that Cena would not be fired by McMahon.
He did not say Cena would not be fired by Triple H. Not that I am trying to create any drama here or continue a storyline that may or may not have legs right now.
Even with the change in "direction", WWE is now in transition and reeling from CM Punk's defection from the top wrestling brand in the business.
While there is a championship match this evening pitting Rey Mysterio against The Miz (Mysterio is getting a major push for Summerslam), here are 10 reasons why Triple H will not fire Cena from RAW or the company.
10. He Is Too Popular with the Younger Generation
1 of 10No one is more popular in the PG-ERA of RAW than Cena.
He may be more popular than Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage ever was.
Cena's charisma with the kids and women who watch is a plus this market needs.
9. There Is No One Right Now to Take His Place on RAW
2 of 10There is no question Cena is the lead face of the brand much like Randy Orton is the lead face on Smackdown.
Looking over the roster, there is no one player that can step in and take his place right now. A Chris Jericho could do that, maybe a Batista.
But the only one who could come close is maybe The Miz and he would have to have a face change and a character change as well.
And right now, The Miz, if he wins the title tonight, is great at playing the heel role.
8. There Aren't Enough Faces to Go Around
3 of 10Looking at the roster for both brands, can you say there are enough good guys to fill the shows?
Big Show is hurt. Kane is hurt. John Morrison is hurt. Alex Riley is too raw. And Randy Orton is too robotic.
Cena leaving leaves a huge gap in the balance of power from both brands.
7. Cena Leaving Makes Randy Orton the Top Face Within the Company
4 of 10And this can be seen as a good thing and bad thing.
There has been much made over Orton and his booking and how he has manipulated the system to get where he is.
Orton does well as a face on Smackdown. But as the lead dog of the company? Not so sure you want to put all your marbles in his basket.
6. It Would Mean There Is Trouble Within the Company
5 of 10If they fire the meal ticket, it means that there is troubl in the ranks.
No one makes more money for WWE than Cena. He is a merchandise magnet.
Cena leaving means a loss all around and a major hit in the battle to remain on top of the ratings with ROH and TNA.
5. Who Would Face the Rock at Wrestlemania XXVIII?
6 of 10We made such a big deal about this being promoted way to early and now that there is new direction, there can be a renewed focus on making this match great.
The Rock has been silent as of late and with Cena's feuds with R-Truth and CM Punk, the match has been put on the back burner.
Now it gets the promotion it deserves.
4. WWE Loses Its Connection to Patriotism
7 of 10No one is more about the red, white and blue.
He is popular with the military and has done his part to help the WWE universe stand tall. No one else could have given the world about Bin Laden.
No one else should have.
He is more of the "Real American" persona Vince tried to create with Hogan, Sgt. Slaughter and Lex Luger.
3. He Is Still Title Contending Material
8 of 10If The Miz wins tonight, who challenges him besides Alex Riley and Rey Mysterio?
Cena is the ideal choice. R-Truth deserves a title run, but he figures to be in a feud when John Morrison returns.
Jack Swagger, Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler- none of them strike fear in anyone who wants to challenge for the title.
2. Because Triple H Said He Would Not Be Fired
9 of 10Take it for what it is worth. Cena has not been fired by WWE.
It was a major statement made by Triple H, much to the delight of the fans and IWC.
Right now, we have to think the new direction for WWE with Triple H will create a new "Attitude Era."
Let's just hope the new boss is as good as his word.
1. Because If Cena Is Fired, CM Punk Is Still Winning
10 of 10As long as there is a chance Cena leaves, Punk wins and continues to do so.
Whether he is part of a storyline or not, management has been working to make sure his name is forgotten.
This only means he will resurface at some point. And when he does, Cena will be there and ready.
