Juan Manuel Marquez, Brian Viloria, Ricky Burns Clash in Weekend Main Events
Three top boxers, including Mexican counter-puncher Juan Manuel Marquez, are featured in a weekend boxing treat in three different venues outside the US mainland.
Juan Manuel Marquez goes up against Likar Ramos of Colombia in a tune-up fight for a November clash with Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao scheduled for November 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Likar Ramos
Marquez Ā (52-5-1, 38 KO)Ā has won titles in threeĀ differentĀ divisions and has fought top-rated boxers in the lightweight division including his controversial fights with Manny Pacquiao which ended in a draw in their first encounter and a loss later in a rematch.
Ramos (24-3, 18 KO) has won 14 out his last 15 bouts which included three knockout victories. The Colombian slugger is a former WBC interim super featherweight Ā champion after defeating Ernesto Morales in 2009 but lost the same a year later against Jorge Solis.
The Marquez vs. Ramos duel will take place in Mexico in a few hours.Ā
Brian Viloria vs.Julio Cesar Miranda
Filipino boxer Brian Viloria (28-3, 16 KO) is a former two-timeĀ worldĀ flyweight champion and is aiming for a third title against the 31-year-old Miranda (35-5-1), who is known as a knockout artist, having won 28 out ofĀ his 35 wins via KO.
The title fight will take place at theĀ Blaisdell Arena inĀ HonoluluĀ Hawaii in a few hours.
Viloria, was born in Hawaii but his parents are from Ilocos Sur in the Philippines.
Ricky Burns vs. Nicky Cook
Ricky Burns (31-2) goes up against Nicky CookĀ former WBO ChampionĀ Nicky Cook, in Liverpool's Echo Arena.
Burns is from Scotland and is the current WBOĀ superĀ featherweightĀ champion
While this article is being prepared, news have it that Nicky Cook suffered a devastating loss to Burns in less that two minutes into the first round. Cook was put into aĀ stretcherĀ and was reported to have suffered from life-threatening injury.
