Kevin CacabelosSenior Analyst IOctober 30, 2008

SeaTown Sports got the priceless opportunity to ask the number 1 ranked high school QB in the nation, Jake Heaps a few questions. Jake Heaps and his Skyline squad are currently undefeated and ranked nationally in the top 25 by many online high school football sites, including MaxPreps.

Tommorow, Heaps and his teammates will get a chance to strut their stuff in front of a national audience in a a game against the Bothell Cougars for the 4A KingCo championship. The game will be aired on ESPNU and is at 5pm at Skyline Stadium.

Without further adeui, here is the interview:

How have you and the team been dealing with all this attention from the media, websites, newspapers, and radio...? Do you guys like the attention? Is it distracting at all?

The media attention is great for the program. It is nice to see this great program get some attention because of the great tradition skyline has. The media is not distracting at all, we use it as a piece of motivation to live up to those expectations as a team.

I'm sure you set some personal goals and your team set some team goals, what were they and what's your progress on reaching these goals?

Our team set the goal of working hard and winning another state title. I have just wanted to come into this season to help all that I could in accomplishing that goal. We are 8-0 heading into the kingco championship game against Bothell. We have outscored our opponents over 330 points to 14 (the 14 points was not against our starting Defense). I have thrown for a 65 completion percentage over 1500yds and 22 passing tds along with 4 rushing (our starters are out of the game around the first half in most of the games so far).

Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions?

Yes, too many to count! Haha.

And of course, I have to ask this question, what are some colleges that have offered you scholarships so far?

I have 16 scholarship offers from Washington, Washington St, Oregon St, Arizona St, South Carolina, Notre Dame, BYU, Minnesota, UCLA, CAL, Tennesse, Nebraska, North Carolina, Duke, Stanford, Boise St.
