John Cena and CM Punk: Impartial Thoughts

For awhile now, WWE has been making an interesting step with its recent WWE title picture. They've made many people happy by making CM Punk the challenger for the WWE Championship, and as of late it's been a pretty "markish" time in the WWE.

Now, I'm writing this basically for two reasons. Seems like most people would like to see CM Punk win the WWE Championship—what he'll do after is a mystery to this writer—while I actually have seen some people who want Cena to win this.

Personally, I couldn't care less who wins this match. I don't care much for CM Punk, and I haven't since he moved to RAW after the destruction of the SES.

I don't care much for John Cena either. What hasn't Cena done in the years he's been in WWE? Win Money in The Bank, ironically, but he doesn't need that. So yeah, there's nothing really interesting to watch from Cena anymore.

Now, I'll get this out of the way. For a while I've seen a lot of articles on why CM Punk is the best, why he's the most talented, why he's this, why he's that, and honestly, it's getting old. I know he's good, but you can only see so many articles that basically say the same thing before you start to groan over it.

WWE is just as bad, as they've been doing what the IWC has been doing with Punk for far longer, and I'll even go ahead and say I agree with Punk—WWE always tries to make it look like Cena is an underdog, but when you've got 10 World Championships, and you're facing guys who've never been World Champion or had one run with the title, it's hard to see why you're the underdog.

If it were up to me—and this isn't to spite CM Punk or his fans—I would have continued the R-Truth/John Cena feud. I mean, look at it like this. Miz got two shots at the WWE Championship, Randy Orton got more than one shot, and even Alberto Del Rio got more than one shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.

The IWC was clamoring for CM Punk to get the title shot, and while I do think Punk could be WWE Champion, I just don't think it was his time.

On a similar note, I think WWE should have also given R-Truth the title at Capital Punishment, but this isn't a rant on how I think R-Truth should be champion or such, I just think it would be good booking. But that's my opinion, and maybe I am a bit biased in this regard, because really, I wouldn't mind if both Cena and Punk (as Truth would say it) "Get Got."

Though, at Money in The Bank, it's a lock that we'll see John Cena vs. CM Punk.

Now, honestly, this match will more than likely be a good one, and while I'll be interested in seeing how it goes, the outcome won't fill me with dread or make me mark out.

If Cena gets fired, and Punk's champion, I won't care, and if CM Punk goes bye-bye to ROH or New Japan, or wherever he wants, I won't care.

So, if I were to be asked who I want to win this, I would probably, for no particular reason say, John Cena. Anyway, this is just something I wanted to get off my chest.
