Fantasy Baseball Free Agent Pool: 2011 RBI Guys, Vol. 6

Daniel Murphy, New York Mets

Murphy is hitting .368 over the past 15 days with eight runs, one home run and 13 RBI. On the year, he’s hitting .298 with 35 runs, five home runs, 35 RBI and four stolen bases. He has first, second and third base eligibility, as well as outfield in Yahoo! leagues. That’s where you might be able to use him as he’s owned in 44 percent of their leagues. In ESPN leagues, that number is 81 percent. His teammate Jason Bay also has 13 RBI and is owned in 57 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Danny Valencia, Minnesota Twins

Valencia is hitting .327 over the past 15 days with eight runs, three home runs and 12 RBI. On the year, he’s hitting .240 with 31 runs, 10 home runs, 45 RBI and two stolen bases. If you’re struggling at third base, he could be a solid option. Valencia is owned in less than 20 percent of all fantasy leagues.

Freddie Freeman, Atlanta Braves

He won’t be little owned for long if he continues to rake like he is, hitting .295 over the past 15 days with 10 runs, five home runs and 12 RBI. On the year, he’s hitting .273 with 38 runs, 12 home runs, 39 RBI and two stolen bases. Freeman is owned in 42 percent of Yahoo! and 66 percent of ESPN leagues.

Ryan Ludwick, San Diego Padres

Ludwick is  hitting .229 over the past 15 days with four runs, one home run and nine RBI. On the year, he’s hitting .251 with 36 runs, 10 home runs, 54 RBI and one stolen base. Ludwick is owned in 38 percent of Yahoo! and 70.6 percent of ESPN leagues.

Jorge Posada, New York Yankees

Posada is hitting .297 over the past 15 days with five runs, three home runs and eight RBI. On the year, he’s hitting .236 with 20 runs, nine home runs and 29 RBI. If you need some pop at catcher, Posada has come around. He is owned in 45 percent of Yahoo! and 36 percent of ESPN leagues.

Raúl Ibañez, Philadelphia Phillies

Ibañez is hitting .214 over the past 15 days with three runs, two home runs, eight RBI and a stolen base. On the year, he’s hitting .236, but he has 35 runs, 10 home runs, 40 RBI and two stolen bases. Ibañez is owned in less than 40 percent of fantasy leagues.

Mark Ellis, Colorado Rockies

Ellis is enjoying his new digs in Colorado hitting .440 (11-for-25) since coming over with seven runs, two home runs, seven RBI and a stolen base. On the year, he’s hitting .240 with 28 runs, three home runs, 23 RBI and eight stolen bases. Ellis is owned in about 10 percent of fantasy leagues.
