WWE: An Argument for Why Sheamus Should Turn Babyface
Sheamus broke onto the scene when ECW was still airing on Syfy. His massive frame and cold demeanor quickly made him a top heel on the WWE's third brand.
He shot up the ladder quickly and had WWE officials elevate him quicker than most people in the history of the company. Within the short span of just five months, Sheamus had gone from a developmental talent to the second quickest WWE Champion in history.
His quick rise was met with some animosity from online fans who thought he was simply too new to be holding the belt, let alone beating John Cena.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
He eventually lost the title and became embroiled in a feud with Triple H. He and Hunter had a few matches, culminating in a street fight where Sheamus would put Triple H on the shelf for quite some time.
He later won his second title with the help of Nexus in a fatal four-way match. He defended the title against both Cena and Orton successfully before being beaten for the belt by Orton in a six- pack challenge.
Since then, Sheamus has gone from feud to feud with little more than small mentions of his pursuit of the title. He is now over on Smackdown, where he is currently set up to compete in the Money in the Bank ladder match.
Since his debut Sheamus has been a heel, and a viscous one at that. He has put multiple superstars out with kayfabe injuries, including Jamie Noble, who was storyline retired after an Irish Cross was delivered on the outside of the ring.
There are a few reasons why I want to see Sheamus turn babyface, but the main reason is that there is not enough babyface power on Smackdown in the main event scene.
There is Orton and Kane, and even Kane has been out of the title picture for quite sometime. The heels currently in the World Title picture on SD are Christian, Mark Henry and Sheamus.
Undertaker is MIA, and none of the other members of the roster are on the main event level yet. Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes and Ezekial Jackson would all be good potential foes for Orton, but Zeke is the IC champ, and Rhodes is more worried about paper bags than he is titles.
Barrett was in the title scene for quite awhile when he ran Nexus, and there was even plans to give him the World Title, but it never happened and he fell down to mid-card status after he was moved to Smackdown.
Khali is not a real contender for the title anymore and Jinder Mahal is nowhere near ready for that kind of move.
I would like to see Sheamus turn babyface so he can be another good guy besides Orton, who is essentially running the whole show in terms of being the top face.
There are a few things working in Sheamus's favor that would allow him to become a babyface the fans could get behind.
His hair and pale skin make him the constant butt of jokes during promos, using this as a way for him to get back at heels who mock him will endear him to all the kids who also get picked on for the way they look.
His accent, while not rare, gives him an international appeal that could help him get over not just in the US, but around the world.
His in-ring work has vastly improved from when he debuted to where he is no longer just another big bulky bully, but a real pro wrestler.
His experience in Europe before he came stateside saw him as a babyface on occasion. His time as a good guy was mostly spent portraying the standard Irish stereotypes: lucky charms, beer and four leaf clovers.
It was Sheamus who began to use things from Irish mythology to make his character an Irish Warrior and not an Irish stereotype.
I think if done right, Sheamus could be a great babyface that the fans could actually cheer for.
What do you think, would Sheamus make a good babyface?
