AC Milan Land Genoa's Stephan El Shaarawy in Co-Ownership
Milan and Genoa seem to love doing business with each other.
This week has seen a lot of action between the clubs. Kevin-Prince Boateng and Marco Amelia have been bought outright from Genoa while Alberto Paloschi, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Rodney Strasser and Gianmarco Zigoni have seen their 50 percent ownership by Genoa bought back by Milan as Sokratis Papastathopoulos was sold back to his former employers.
Shortly after all this, 19-year-old wonderkid Alexander Merkel was sent to Genoa in a co-ownership.
Now, it seems that another player has been introduced to life as a co-owned player by Milan and Genoa.
Eighteen-year-old Stephan El Shaarawy will be joining AC Milan as the co-ownership is expected to begin once his loan to Padova runs out at the end of this month, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The Italian participated in 25 games for Padova in Serie B, scoring seven goals from his position as attacking midfielder. Padova fell to Novarra for the third promotion spot to Serie A in the playoff.
For El Shaarawy, this is a dream come true. According to the young midfielder, he has been a Milan fan since he was young.
"I like AC Milan because I have been a fan of theirs since I was a child," he told Sky Sport 24.
"My idol is Kaka and he has always inspired me. It would be a dream come true to be part of a team like AC Milan."
Inter Milan were also linked to El Shaarawy.
In other transfer news, Adriano Galliani has told Milan fans to not expect the so-called "Mr. X" to arrive until late August, near the end of the summer mercato.
"If Mr. X arrives, he will arrive at the end of August, during the last few days of the mercato. And it will only be one signing."
Before El Shaarawy, Milan added defenders Taye Taiwo and Philippe Mexes. The club claims to be in search of a top-level left midfielder.
