Fantasy Football: My All-Waiver-Wire Team For Week Eight
In Week Eight, Mewelde Moore propelled my AWW team to a respectable 70 points. If that was higher than, or too close for comfort to yours, maybe one or some (hopefully not all) of the guys on this list can help you win your matchup this week.
QB: Jeff Garcia, TB (at DAL, 66%).
Garcia looked impressive against the Seahawks last week, completing 75% of his passes for 310 and a score. The Cowboys looked almost as bad as Garcia looked good, falling 34-14 to the Rams on Sunday.

1 Prospect Each Team Must Avoid in 2026 NFL Draft
RB: Leon Washington, NYJ (vs KC, 29%).
The winner of the "Who Gets to Play the Chiefs?" sweepstakes, Washington will look to improve upon his rushing numbers after getting a score at Oakland last week.
RB: BenJarvus Green-Ellis, NE (vs STL, 39%).
This is less of a challenge to the Rams' defense than it is Green-Ellis seeing daylight in a crowded backfield due to the process of elimination. Laurence Maroney is out for the year, and LaMont Jordan and Sammy Morris are doubtful to go this week. Kevin Faulk is the Pats' third-down back, so Green-Ellis should see the bulk of the carries.
WR: Nate Washington, PIT (vs NYG, 13%).
Washington gets the start in place of Santonio Holmes this week against the Giants. The matchup isn't exactly favorable, but this is a waiver-wire team. How picky can you be?
WR: Donnie Avery, STL (at NE, 44%).
The first wide receiver taken in this year's NFL Draft, Avery is starting to emerge as a deep-threat for the Rams. I doubt the Patriots look nearly as dominant on defense against St. Louis this week, for a couple of reasons:
The Pats last week did not have to focus much on the Broncos' running game and were playing from ahead early, making the Broncos essentially one-dimensional. The Rams have an elite running back in Steven Jackson that the Patriots will have to scheme against, opening up passing lanes (and meaning that Avery's success is likely contingent on Jackson's playing - he's a game-time decision). Also, the Patriots will be without hard-hitting safety Rodney Harrison.
RB/WR: Kevin Curtis, PHI (vs ATL, 56%).
Curtis claims to be 100% recovered from hernia surgery. The Eagles won't rush him, but I'll take my chances with him against the Falcons' secondary.
TE: Marcedes Lewis, JAX (vs CLE, 19%).
In Week 6, I picked up Lewis five minutes before the games started because I wasn't comfortable with using Kellen Winslow (who ended up missing the game) and he rewarded me by being the top-scoring fantasy tight end. He has a chance to do it again this week.
DST: Redskins, WAS (at DET, 68%).
They're playing the Lions. The winless Lions. Of course, the Rams were winless before playing the 'Skins as well, but I see the Lions staying that way.
K: Jay Feely, NYJ (vs KC, 8%).
See: Washington, Leon.
It's time to pick up:
Mewelde Moore. Willie Parker's injury is either more serious than we think, or they're saving him for the late season stretch while Moore handles the load, as he is filling in admirably and still starting for Parker.
