Twenty-five of Condit's 26 victories have come by early stoppage (13 by submission, 12 by knockout).

7. B.J. Penn

    Record: 18-7

    Promotion: UFC

    Age: 27 years old

    Reason

Thiago Alves is coming off of his first win inside the UFC since October of 2008 when he beat Josh Koscheck for the right to face Georges St-Pierre at UFC 100.

Alves suffered two straight losses to GSP and Jon Fitch, with his bout of Fitch becoming a catchweight bout after he failed to make weight for their fight. Now Alves is set to face off against Rick Story at UFC 130.

4. Nick Diaz

8 of 11

    Record: 25-7, one no contest

    Promotion: Strikeforce

    Age: 27 years old

    Reason

Nick Diaz has become a top welterweight within the MMA community. His last win over Paul Daley was an impressive knockout where Diaz showcased his boxing skills.

Diaz has retained his Strikeforce welterweight title, and calls for him to face Georges St-Pierre for the UFC welterweight title are being made.

Diaz is set to face Jeff Lacy in a boxing match in the fall.

3. Jake Shields

9 of 11

    Record: 26-5-1

    Promotion: UFC

    Age: 32 years old

    Reason

Jake Shields had his last fight against Georges St-Pierre for the UFC welterweight title. Even though he blinded GSP, he still couldn't pull out the victory and let GSP ride out to a unanimous decision.

Before that fight Shields did not lose a fight since 2005. Shields is still a top welterweight and now has to find a way to get back into the welterweight title mix.

2. Jon Fitch

10 of 11

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - FEBRUARY 27: BJ Penn of the USA is pinned down by Jon Fitch of the USA during their welterweight bout part of UFC 127 at Acer Arena on February 27, 2011 in Sydney, Australia. (Photo by Mark Kolbe/Getty Images)
    Mark Kolbe/Getty Images

    Record: 23-3-1, one no contest

    Promotion: UFC

    Age: 33 years old

    Reason:

Jon Fitch is an extraordinary fighter. Yeah, his fighting style may bore you out of your mind and make you rather watch paint dry. But facts are facts, Fitch wins.

Fitch already has had one shot at the UFC's welterweight title and he most certainly could get another shot at Georges St-Pierre. After dominating Penn in the final round of their UFC 127 showdown, when Fitch gets back from injury, all signs point up for the welterweight.

1. Georges St-Pierre

11 of 11

    Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images

    Record: 22-2

    Promotion: UFC

    Age: 29 years old

    Reason

Georges St-Pierre is one of the most dominant champions in UFC history. He's coming off of a heavily criticized, UFC 129 unanimous decision victory over Jake Shields.

GSP lost vision in one eye and was completely different from that point on. That shouldn't take away from the fact though that he has won nine fights in a row against top talent.

Not much else to say about the man who is widely considered the number two ranked pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
