Top 10 Heels in Pro Wrestling Today

1 of 13

Every tale needs one, and you will rarely find a movie, book or television drama without one. The tales portrayed follow our favorite heroes in their battle with evil, and pro wrestling is no exception.

So who are the greatest heels in pro wrestling today?

In this slide show I am going to outline, in my opinion, some of the greatest we have who are actively wrestling.

Please let me know your opinions in the comments below, and any feedback would be much appreciated.

10: "The Monster" Abyss

2 of 13

Abyss was recently involved in a very surprising storyline over on TNA. He was seen carrying a piece of wood with nails sticking out of every possible side, and was responsible for the hospitalisation of R.V.D. Abyss preached the arrival of "Them," who in fact turned out to be Hulk Hogan's group Immortal.

Abyss is one of the top heels in pro wrestling today. He gets heat from the crowd whenever he is involved in a matchup or even when he appears back stage. He rightly deserves a place on this slide show.

9: Michael Cole

3 of 13

"And I quote," the phrase that makes every fan cringe. Michael Cole has been narrating Monday Night Raw for quite some time, but he has only recently turned into one of the most hated men on our television screens.

Sir Michael Cole has been involved in quite a, lengthy, feud with Jerry "The King" Lawler over on raw and it has been dragging on a bit, but Cole never fails in what seems to be his only talent, being one of the greatest heels in the WWE.

8: Drew Mcintyre

4 of 13

The Chosen One or The Sinister Scotsman, whatever you may know him by, Drew McIntyre remains one of the top heels in the WWE at the moment, but let's not forget that he is also one of the youngest. We've seen a quick glimpse of McIntyre's ability as a heel at the 2011 Elimination Chamber PPV when he smashed Wade Barrett through one of the glass chambers and manhandled Rey Mysterio with a painful slam into the side of one of the glass pods.

Once McIntyre gets the push he deserves he will be No.1 on this list for me, but only the future will tell if Creative uses him correctly.

7: Ric Flair

5 of 13

The Nature Boy is a textbook heel, excellent mic skills and great in-ring abilities. Ric Flair has been on our screens for 20-plus years and is still going strong today.

The future Hall of Famer deserves a spot on this list for one reason, he is a wrestling God and it would be blasphemy not too!

6: Mexican America

6 of 13

Although a relatively new group, they have every fan hating their very existence. Although the main heel in the group is "Hernandez," the group in its own right needs a mention as one of the top groups in pro wrestling today, not to mention a damn good heel group.

5: Alberto Del Rio

7 of 13

We may be mentally constipated compared to the nobleman from Mexico who, of course has had a superior education and is on a mission to become a World Champion within the WWE. His destiny has been denied several times recently, but he is closing in rapidly on a World Title, but who knows which one it will be.

4: Cody Rhodes

8 of 13

Rhodes has a gimmick makeover, and damn is it working for him. He is getting massive amounts of heat from the crowd and even has the bag masks to get the crowd involved with his promo.

Let's hope Rhodes continues on the path he is on at the moment and is going to be destined for great things over on Smackdown. He is the greatest heel on Smackdown at the moment hands down.

3: Hulk Hogan

9 of 13

Hulk Hogan is on this list for one reason, he founded the group Immortal on TNA which turns out to be a collection of TNA's greatest heels. Hogan is No. 3 for being the mastermind behind it.

I know Hogan is not active in the ring, but he is active as a manager and needs to be recognized for his heel status.

2: R-Truth

10 of 13

I know what you're thinking, he has only just recently turned heel but he is doing a very good job at it and needs some credit. R-Truth has been stuck as a jobber for years now, and finally he is getting a push in the right direction. He seems to fit the heel persona naturally and it is taking him to heights he has never been to before.

1: The Miz

11 of 13

The Miz has great mic skills and he shows it every Monday Night, not to mention he has held the WWE title and established himself in the main event with the likes of John Cena, John Morrison and Rey Mysterio on Raw.

Things are looking up for The Miz as he heads into Over the Limit with a rematch for the WWE title.
